file permissions settings upon upgrade changed
« on: February 21, 2014, 11:43:42 AM »
Hello Admins,  in trying to trace down several of my issues after upgrade it occurred to me that perhaps some of my file settings had changed when I upgraded from .7  to .8.  And they did. Yes,  I am a little slow in thinking of this  :(
Upgrade from .7  to .8 on my server sets all those files back to 755.

So am wondering if this may be the cause of several issues with others,  I am still testing on mine, but so far so good.
Install instructions say  to make sure the following folders and files are writable
chmod 0777 system/config.php
chmod 0777 system/
chmod 0777 system/cache/
chmod 0777 system/logs/
chmod 0777 image/
chmod 0777 image/thumbnails/
chmod 0777 download/
chmod 0777 extensions/
chmod 0777 admin/system/backup/

You can use FTP credentials for upgrade to avoid changing directories of riles permission changes.
