Banner Manager not recognizing on-off status
« on: March 26, 2014, 04:17:26 AM »
Hi. I've been playing around with the HTML5 slider banner today and made some changes to the sample banners. However, for some reason the on-off status doesn't work under the manager now. All of the banners will say off in the manager, but all of the five banners are playing. I change the status to off or on, save the changes, refresh the page and everything goes back to off. Therefore, I can't shut down individual banners. I tried different browsers, emptied browser cache, etc, still the same. Last week everything was working fine, but now this started. Strange.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check layouts for the home page and see if their selected there in the appropriate drop down menus.

Make sure you have selected the home page on the left hand menu. If it isn't selected in the layouts, you can't change the status in the banner manager.

Hi. Those settings are all fine. I have the banner slider selected on the homepage. It's displaying properly on the homepage, just the manager won't hold any of it's on-settings. All of the other settings work; I have changed the HTML, the pictures, etc. Those changes stick and they display fine. I just can't turn off individual ones. The entire page of banners says off, even though five are displaying.

Sure. Here the first one. They say off, but they are displaying normally. I can only attache one file because of 192kb max

I see that, and nothing selected on the layout either

Have you tried clearing your cache?

Hi,  just to add a small point for clarity -  Gordon is referring to the system cache, not the browser cache

It's found under System > Cache
You need to select the items individually  OR all with the master check box,  and scroll to bottom for the clear

Yep, I tried that. Still no difference. Hmm, strange one. I only see these problem in the Banner Manager, no other menus.

My work-around is that I just delete the pages that keep playing. That works.

Hi Siri M. ,

I'm facing same matter too. Spend a few hours just looking for solution for this matter. Then, I found extension call 'Banner manager' in extension tab. Its is in 'On' when we install this cart, maybe I accidentally 'Off' it.

This step works for me, hopefully its will work to others too.

P/S: Sorry my bad english.. ;D ;D ;D
