Zero balance check out not working

I am using pay pal & even though the balance is zero it takes me to Pay Pal to pay or with pro it wants a credit card. This is the main reason I wanted this cart. So I did not have to have a balance for customers to check out. HELP!!

OK, are you doing the zero balance via a coupon? I know if you set the price to zero it will checkout just fine.

I'm not the final word on this, but someone else is having the same issue. Your using a coupon for members?

It appears a coupon making the total zero is not the same as setting a zero price.

What is the product your selling? Is it tangible or a download?

Has anyone figured this out??? I tried gift certificates and that does not work either. I need for my customers to be able to put in a coupon code or gift certificate and be able to check out with a zero balance. The gift certificate should work like this but does not. Getting very frustrated. I need to have this up on the 1st. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Got the gift certificate to work at least! WHEW! If anyone figures out the coupon with zero balance please post :-)
