How to enable the weight based shipping
« on: June 30, 2012, 07:16:40 PM »
Hello,

I have tried the demo.abantecart.com

1. I enabled the Weight Based Shipping
2. I have set the shipping address as United States
3. I tried to check out one product (required shipping) and it's set as 500g
4. When I check out, there is no Weight Based Shipping choice, only Cash on Delivery.

Could you help?

Thanks

Hello,

Yes, I tried the demo.abantecart.com

I have updated the product as 70g, required shipping
I have enabled the weight-based shipping module, and updated the USA rate as:
0:10.00,100:20.00,500:30.00
I have then updated the user address as USA, and added the product to the cart for checkout.

But there is no any weight-based shipping option in the checkout page, I only see the flat rate shipping option.

Attached please see the screen capture for details.

Please advise.

Thanks a lot

Table rate type module would tend to rule out a weight type mismatch.

This may be an issue fixed in 1.0.3, and an upgrade might fix this.

Any PHP errors in the log ?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

Because I just try on your  demo site to test, so I don't have any php error log

Thanks

USA Location zone that is set up in default install is set only to have New York state. Your shipping address is not in NY.

I tested with NY address and works perfectly.

Locations/Zones are set specific to the online store business and operations.

To edit Locations go to System -> Localizations -> Locations

I am sorry for the confusion.

In next version we will set all state to the default USA zone.

Hello,

I have changed my address state to NY, I could see the weight based shipping at the checkout page.  Thanks!

But there is another problem, I have set the product as 70g (gram), but the checkout page show it as 70KG.  Is there any setting issue for this?

Attached please find the screen capture.

Thanks

We can not replicate this problem. What do you have set as weight class in settings -> local ?

Hello,

I just add this item "Absolue Eye Precious Cells" to the cart:
demo.abantecart.com/index.php?rt=product/search&keyword=Absolue%20Eye%20Precious%20Cells

Seems that this product has issue, I will try another one.

Thanks a lot

Hello,

I have tried to checkout another product, still meet the same issue.

I checkout this product:
Skinsheen Bronzer Stick
Product ID 50
link: "demo.abantecart.com/index.php?rt=product/product&path=36_40&product_id=50"

I didn't change anything, the weight class is Gram, weight is 75.00

But when I checkout, at the checkout page it shows as 75KG

The user account I use is:
login: ivanman80 (at yahoo.com)
password: password

I have attached the screen capture for your reference.

Thanks

We will check.

Keep in mind that demo is reset every 30 min, so your settings will be removed before we get to them.

Yes, I understand that.

Actually, my action is very simple, just add the product to the cart and checkout.

Because I am choosing a suitable shopping cart for my web store, I try to make everything fine for me before actually use it.

Waiting for your good news for the checking.

Thanks a lot

I guess this is hard to catch problem.

I tried this on demo as well as on my install and I get consistently the same result

See image.

Steps:
1. Set product with "Requires Shipping" on
2. Enable weight based shipping extension
3. Set kg on Settings -> Local -> Weight Class to Kilogram.

Do you have anything else set?

I tried the demo again, and get the right result now.  Thanks a lot.

If I want to enable weight base shipping for different countries, do I need to add the country and it's Location Zones one by one?

Any faster way to achieve it?

Thanks a lot
