just to be sure you understand that the default html_5 template is responsive design.  That makes it deliver well across all devices.
Here's a handy website that will display how a site looks on various devices - note there is an option on the upper right corner to check devices or widths

http://mattkersley.com/responsive/

Try the link using the abantecart demo http://demo.abantecart.com/  and see how it works

This may be an easier solution for you.  You would then not have to maintain two sites.  Just a thought

I have seen this already and though nice can it be customized? I do like that template for purchase. I am hoping more templates become available for this cart

I should have mentioned this earlier. If i stay with the default template is there a way to rearrange the order of where some things appear? Example move the search bar above the items already above it. Move the logo down. etc.

I am praying to GOD i can make this work for us as I have used some other cart systems and in the end I had to abandon them because they did not provide what we needed.

Flyn -  That is really the beauty of this cart, and I particularly like the template

Here's a list of some other carts that have been re-arranged  -  they are all built on the responsive design.  This will give you and idea of how flexible

You should spend a little time reading the documentation  about the design,  layouts, blocks   it will help you understand the easy flexiblity of Abantecart

Flyn I haven't been using AbanteCart for long either.

Not easy to find a suitable cart these days.  :)

Have a look at kwalitykards.co.uk

The longest part is adding the stock.
