Can't Back Up Site
« on: January 06, 2015, 09:05:31 PM »
Hello Support,

Getting this: check directory /home/studioel/public_html/online-store/admin/system/backup permissions to be set to -rw-rw-rw and [PHP memory setting]. Increase memory setting or run backup manually if process still fail (a manual backup would be just fine).

Step 1: success
Step 2: success
Step 3: success
Step 4 - failed. (Error: cannot to pack /home/studioel/public_html/online-store/admin/system/backup/manual_backup.tar.gz )
Task Failed

Not sure how to proceed.

Kind of terrifying when a week of work is in one place!

Thanks in advance.

in most cases that error related to 2 causes:
1. memory for php is not enough
2. time for executing php-script exceeds limit

Both causes regulated by  php.ini directives but have global server limitations.
If you can not to change them we recommended to do full backup of your abantecart in hosting provider CPanel (ask hosting provider support about this, or just do export of whole database from phpmyadmin and copy all files via ftp access)

Thanks much abolabo. I figured out soon after I posted (once I put my thinking cap on) the best workaround was exporting directly from phpmyadmin.  Do the database files/tables live in home/online-store/admin/core/database as the generically titled amysqli.php and mysql.php?
