You can add multiple currency to the menu options at the top of the page. When a shopper selects their currency, the price will show in that currency.

No, not the way the cart is currently configured. I can be confusing to some if it's set up that way. That is why they can select their currency from the top menu and display the price only in their currency.

You can add something to the product page like this

https://naturalhandcraftedsoaps.com/secure/index.php?rt=product/product&product_id=118

and that would say select your currency from the menu above to find the price in your currency. (or something of that nature)

Sorry maybe i am missing somethings but all i can see is there is only price as dollar available and i can't see a option who tell's me that i can change the currency ?
i need ****** to add the currency price what is Turkish lira at the items menu to display it locally to the customer but the default price 1 is dollar because all the price from must products are in dollar here but most custome don't know how to change the currency and there are thinking all the price are just in dollar i heart that from many people and there say always to me why my site are all in dollar and not turkish lira and i have to explain to the people that you can change it on the top :(

I think this is a serious problem for most custumer who visits my site
and i need it really to show it minimum with 2 currency to the custome as dollar and Turkish lira in the same menu and same time

I saw a shopping cart on the net where there show the items with a mouseOver and popup menu on the mouse all the available currency

would be great to have somethings like this
but its is strongly in need i think to have a option to show it as dollar what is importen but also a local currency what is turkish here on my board to the customer

Follow the link Basara gave you

http://www.abantecart.com/ecommerce-documentation/admin-user-manual/system/localization#Currencies

Scroll down a little and it'll explain how to set up other currencies. You'll need to set them up and enable currencies in the layout pages after you've added the currencies you need.

Hi, in the system > currencies   (see the link from Basara to the docs)  you can set as many currencies as you wish - here's the KEY,  whatever is your default currency choice needs to be set to 1.00000 in the value,   That will enable the cart to display that top on the drop down AND use in the products pricing unless the customer selects a different currency.

Looking at your post -  you can not changed the value of your preferred currency so it is using the default as it was installed.

Set only ONE currency to 1.00000 in the value,  any others you need are a factor of your main currency.

yes I understund
when you set the currency to 1 it will be the default currency and it will display as first to the customer but i can not use the default 1 for turkish lira because all the products price list are in dollar
and currency dollar quote are very going up and down in the last time so all price are automatic changed
if i set turkish as the default 1 like example

18.97 turkish lira for one product
and dollar maybe at the moment at 2.7
it means 7 dollar for the product
but if dollar goes higher like maybe 3.2 then the price still 18.97 turkish lira "because i set turkish lira to 1 as default"
but its not 7 dollar anymore its 5.9 dollar now

but the products are buyed at 7 dollar so i can not sell it at 5.9 dollar ?

do you see what i mean ?

the default have to be 1 = dollar but the display need to show first option as turkish lira

Good info Lee, Oliver, unfortunately the cart is set up the way it is and without additional programming it can't be changed. Buying in dollars and selling in Turkish Lira is a problem due to the inherent flux in the dollar value. There is no programming in place to automatically convert the variations in the currency, the best is to do it manually, which is a very big task indeed.

Just post in dollars and let the payment processor make the adjustments on their end.

Problem solved

The cart will automatically adjust to the exchange rates - see below.  I believe they use Yahoo Exchange rates still.

Value:
The currency value compared to your default currency. If the currency you are entering is going to be your default currency you should set the value to 1.00000. The currency value will change automatically if you have auto update currency set to yes.

all the curency works fine and the auto update of the currency  using yahoo are also great

I need just to display on the frontstore not the default "Dollar" currency i need to display the Turkish lira and i think it can be done with a litle change in some script or page
