User managing a specific store
« on: May 12, 2015, 12:23:37 PM »
Hello All,
I created a second store, a new user group and a new user.
Is it possible to restrict a user to managing only a certain store?
I look through all of the rights, I don't know what most of them mean, but I was hoping I would see something to allow a user access to only a specific store.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Robin.

Unfortunately AbanteCart do not support admin-per-store.

If your second store works in another domain do not give access for main admin side for your second user.

Well, I had my fingers crossed on that one.  That is a feature I need badly.  I have tried many carts in the last 5 months and AbanteCart is the best.
It would be nice if that feature could be added soon.
I will try to implement your suggestion. That should solve my problem.

Thanks again for a great piece of software.

Robin.

I created a second user as a demonstration and me being the admin. But when I log as a demonstration user, I can't access anything. Not even products, categories and clients. It says that I don't have permissions.  :-\ I have also activated the demonstration user.
So, what's the issue here?

did you assign the demonstration user to a user group?

If you did,  then check the user group to see what functions have been made available to the user.

You have two things to do here:
first there must be a user group  (admin is always there can not be deleted)  all other user groups can be setup to restrictions access to various things.

Then you have a user -  and assign that user to a specific   user group .   That can be Admin  or another user group available.  And you can reassign users to different user groups as desired.

Oh, I got it. I have to manually check what the demonstrator group can access. I thought it was automated once I created a new user.
Thanks

Hm.. I 've assigned what a demonstration group can see and what it can edit, but as soon as I login I get a bunch of Access denied errors in whatever button I click in the dashboard...
Ex. Even if I successfully create a new product and save it, I still get on my screen the access denied messages

is this version 1.2.1 or 1.2.2  of the cart?

I have noticed in some of my 1.2.1 installations depending on the browser I am using I get the one pink one at the top, but it still allows me to edit.  I haven't found it in 1.2.2 yet.

But is doesn't keep the user from doing some things- and there is a little X close on the message.  So I am "ignoring" it for now.

okay, playing with the demo on abantecart.com  are you using the demonstratopm that is already set up in there?
If looks like it comes configured with everything turned off.
Once you switch on what you want to give access to,  try clearing your cache in your admin panel.
Then clear your webrowser also -  Abantecart has a strong caching system,  and if you are on a litespeed server it caches also,  in addition to your webrowser caching,  so in developing sometimes is a struggle get it everything refreshed.
