Working with two prices for one product
« on: October 18, 2015, 03:27:25 PM »
We installed the abantecart website and it working well, only we would like to change something. We are selling beers and wines in big quantities. When they see the product we would like to show the price per bottle or can, but when they order and are filling their cart we want them to order a pallet full of that type of beer or wine. We were thinking of making two prices categories, when you are filling in the data per product (general) one per can and one per pallet. In that way we could show the price per can/bottle when they see the product and the second price is per pallet and that one has to be linked to the cart. Is there anybody who can help us with this?.

Hello, this might be an easy solution for you, and perhaps less confusing to your customers.

on the Product General page you can add something to the blurb - it shows on the home page and on the product page -  in my example I used sold by pallet only.

and on the same Product General page you can set a minimum product requirement to order the product .

Blurb: Is a feature added with 1.2.3 version.  The field is on your Product Page Description.  Enter a short description of the product. Will be displayed on product list pages and main section of the product page.

Ok,  I understand your point,  since you're only going to provide product by case or pallet.  Then look at the options tab.
You could add options with the the number of bottles in the manner you are selling.  You will have to play around a little to get the bottle one to not show  up - or use a negative number so it goes to zero,  or you can track stock and have it set to zero for the singles -  Or simply say not sold in singles.  But the option would give you the case price,  and and they can order multiples of it.

Skinsheen Bronzer Stick - Size Pallet (2736 bottles)  $4,133.50

There's a handy extension in the Marketplace  http://marketplace.abantecart.com/option_price
that will handle the pricing as the final pricing and not an added to price.  Customers get confused on the add to pricing.
