upload audio and video
« on: October 22, 2012, 04:38:44 AM »
Hi,
I have successfully upload an audio file for a product. But I couldn't find it at the store front?

Pls advice where is it located? And how to enable it to be played on the server but not download it?

take care,
teck

You need to create a Data listing block.

These are the steps
1. Go to Home :: Blocks :: Create block
2. Select Data listing
3. Select media and media type to show. Enter other data you need.
4. Save
5. Go to layout for product details page Design -> layouts
6. Locate where you want block to show, select block.
7. save

NOTE: Now storefront will show this block only if there is any media of this type available for given product
Same applies to categories

Thanks.
I managed to have the audio block displays at the product page but when i click on the auido, it links back to homepage. It is a mp3 file.
Secondly, how to attach an icon for the audio file?

take care,

Im having a similar problem. Im selecting media, and then clicking on video, but no matter what size video I upload it says file too big?

Im trying to upload a very small video of the product instead of a picture. Ive looked through the documentation, it says you can do it. I just know what the size limit is.
any Ideas?

File upload size is controlled in 2 places.

1. In AbanteCart configuration System ->Settings -> Resource Library Upload Max File

2. Setting of maximum upload file size set in PHP

ok That worked! Thanks, but it is doing the same to me now. Its only linking to the home page. I have the block set up as media.

I assume this does not need to be done for PDF files. I added the pdf file under product>media, downloads, then related the product media to the download in "relations" under product.  Do I need to do something else to allow download of pdf after purchase...I am trying to set up the return link now, but so far not returning to site for download...using google checkout and paypal

If you want simply uplaod mp4 file to your media library simply add new format as described here https://abantecart.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AD/pages/24281122/Add+new+resource+type

However you may need to modify your storefront template or extension to add code to play it
