Adding option to every product.
« on: August 18, 2016, 10:18:03 AM »
Hi,

Is there any way to add a new option to all products rather than one by one?

For example a shop that never done collection now does,so i need to add an option like -

"Collect in StoreA
 Collect in StoreB
 Collect in StoreC
 Collect in StoreD"

Now the option is easy made can just use a select box,the only problem is adding it to 1000+ products will take a long time.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks peeps.

Hello.
You can create Global Attribute and then add it to product.. a bit speed up process.
Other way is to use CSV import but you need backup before you run it and take attention to the details

Hi.
Thank you I receive you export file. file.tar.gz is common for almost all servers archive format. You need to unarchive it to get your unarchived export.csv file
There are a lot of free archive software with .tar.gz support for example 7zip  :)

Done,thanks alot. Silly me.

How would I go about changing an option on all products now?

I see thing's like "product_options[0].product_option_id   product_options[0].attribute_id" and so on.

I added my new option to one product but when I go to that product on the sheet it does not have any difference between that product and  the ones that don't have that option?

Any help is appreciated.
