Switching to AbanteCart Cart
« on: July 03, 2013, 12:52:28 PM »
Hi,
I have a client that wants to switch to AbanteCart cart, she is currently using another cart.  She has close to 1700 products, is there a way to import them over to AbanteCart, she doesn't have time to relist all of them in a new cart.

Also is there a way to put the quantity option for each product listed on the front page and make it so people can add the product to the cart from the front page and not have to go to the product page?

PS.  There aren't many products I just don't want to have to do them all over:

New store:  http://chihuahuamommas.com

AbanteCart comes with migration option System -> Data -> Migration tool.
If specific cart migration required, you can try to use import to load data in CSV oe excel format. System -> Data -> Import /Export

Adding products with quantities without leaving page is possible. But you might need to tweak page to show the quantity fields.

I have tried every which way to put the correct coding on the page but nothing worked for me, any suggestions?  I worked on it for a couple of hours and got nowhere.

Will check into the migration system, my client really likes and wants to use the cart.

It is a cart called ASHOP, you can find it here, it has the wholesale feature she needs but it is always having problems.

There is no migration tool for ASHOP in AbanteCart.

You will need to build the migration script or bridge data from ASHOP CSV export (if available) to AbanteCart import

OK, not sure I can do that but I will look into it.

I have another question ... I set up a store for a new client, they were going to use one of my sub domains so that is where I set the store up, now they have decided to buy their own domain and I need to transfer it over.  I installed in on the new domain and transferred the files over but the products did not transfer.  I tried exporting the product tables in myphpadmin and uploading them to the new domain but am getting errors.  Do I need to remove the tables from the new install and then upload the tables from the old store?
