Title: Facebook and Twitter
Post by: Old Fossil on May 09, 2014, 11:40:15 AM
I know that AbanteCart has to receive funds by various means to keep going,

BUT

As many shopping carts and other websites feature facebook likes and Twitter tweets as the norm these days isn't it time AbanteCart caught up with the competion?

Before I started with AbanteCart I looked at an ecommerce which used wordpress.

Twitter and Facebook were FREE addons

I am 100% for adding these for free. We need help with that. Anyone can contribute help?
Existing paid extension belongs to AlgoZone, we can not use it :)

I was able to add the tweets via an html block although 1 tweet at a time woulda suited me more.

Not code savvy sadly so unable to help in that respect.  :(

Hey Old Fossil,

Each of the widgets has the ability for you to change the size -  Twitter default is 600 px  ,  if you reduce that you will have fewer feeds showing.

Facebook has different widgets,  but I believe you can custom size most, if not all.

Try a few different sizes, and attributes and you will get what you want.  Just remember to render the new code and update your block on the cart  ;)

Just blocks.

Currently looking into adding tweets as an html block.

One tweet at a time woulda been ideal.  :)

I created a free media block so people would have a easy time adding facebook twitter youtube and a sitemap, I actually created two.. a paid version that has tons of options  and icons and is super easy to use.. so I thought well some people will need only a few links..so again I made the free block.. asked that people only left feedback so others would see it.. DO YOU THINK THAT WAS TOO MUCH TO ASK....yeah.. lots of downloads.. yeah. not one thanks.. or hey great program..not even a this program sucks.. So I turned it off.  you can make your own damn extension.

People buy the paid version,as it is a great extension,  I turned off the free version because simply adding a review seemed too high a cost.
