Hi abolabo

Thanks for the pointer. I am attaching the eml file here. I noticed that when I try to send an email to the sales @ mydomain .com from a regular email account I am not receiving it in my gmail account as I expected that to be. Can you help me with some directions.

Pls find the eml file for your perusal.

regards

Hi

Reply to show the email id I had configured in the system but with the user name entered by the user.

I hope I am making myself clear. Let me put it this way..

In System > Settings > store details, I have included the email id say (mail @ abc.com). Now mail @ abc.com is forwarding thru cPanel to my gmail.
Under System > Settings > Mail 'Alert Mail' is ON but other options are left blank.

Now when I select the Store > Contact Us and fill the details like say
name: John
email: john @ gmail.com

Then I get the mail in my gmail inbox with name John but the email id of John would be mail @ abc.com.
So if I reply to the mail, I would get the mail back to myself.

What am I doing wrong

General Support / Contact us does not respect the user entered email.

Gentlemen

The emails I receive when I send a test message from the contact us page shows my own email id as the sender.
The email that I provided during filling the form does not get reflected here even though the name is correctly shown. In other words the email sender and receiver is same, basically means I wont be able to respond to the sender since the sender and receiver becomes the same.

Any thoughts on what am I missing.

email configured is domain email (which is forwarding it to gmail in cPanel)

Thanking you in anticipation

General Support / Products data entry operator ACL's

I am sure there should be a doc somewhere for this. But so far I could not find it.  :)

I am in need to give a user privilage to only enter the product details, like a data entry operator.

I have created a group, created a user to be part of that group.

I then searched for 'product' in the controller for the group and gave both access and modify to be on for all the listed options.

When I try to login with the said user, it gives many of the pop ups with "Permission Denied! You do not have permission to access this page, please refer to your system administrator." message.

I then searched for 'catalog' in the controller for the group and gave both access and modify to be on for all the listed options.

Still I get the same popup messages.  ???

Can you pls list out what all are the required permissions for a user to enter only the products or direct me to the proper document.

Thanking you and warm regards

Fresh Installation / Re: Modify admin url possible.?
« on: August 21, 2016, 10:57:54 AM »
Hi Mr Admin

As I mentioned I installed the app thru the cPanel installatron. There was only one option and it never really asked any questions other than the admin user.

The url after the installation is having some random long name. I can click on it the page loads and I can login using the admin user.

So I guess I will have to live with the first part.

Now the second part, I can see the DB details in config.php I assume the password for the DB provided is encrypted there. How can I replace the passwd since I assume the passwd might be just the user name. I could be wrong. I would need the passwd in case I need to do any manual DB ops right.

If I manage to change the passwd in the db using cPanel where all do I need to change it in the app to ensure it wont break it.

thanks and regards

Fresh Installation / Modify admin url possible.?
« on: August 21, 2016, 08:30:43 AM »
Gentlemen

Needless to say, I am a newbie.

I installed abantecart 1.2.7 using installatron on godaddy and it did not ask me for any secret_admin key during the installation as the documents suggest. Now the admin url comes like example.com/index.php?s=32charNumsAndlowercaseLetters

Is there a way to make it more user freindly. Like say what the doc says secretAdmin maybe :)

Also the installation did not ask for any DB user, it only said it will create a user, tables etc. Now I am not sure what is the user passwd is, would it be the same as user?.

If yes, is there a way to change it without breaking the app. What I mean is if I change it in the database settings in cPanel where in the app config files do I need to change it. Would be clear text or encrypted in the app config files. Can I just ignore the whole thing and what would happen if I need to restore a old db copy may be in the event of a db corruption may be.

Thanking you in advance  :D
