Greetings - made another attempt today using Softaculous again, thought after some time this would be corrected but it is not.  BTW, I did change all the file permissions as set forth in the documentation after the install via FTP but to no avail.

Well, I got it to work, at least. There appears to be a bug in the software code, as the error log was showing this complaint:

[20-May-2014 19:52:41 America/Chicago] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function write() on a non-object in /home/farmer/public_html/trial/core/lib/cache.php on line 53

I commented out the following function in the above script:

# if(!is_array($cache_files)){
# $this->registry->get('log')->write('Cache directory is not accessible or writable. Caching operation was skipped!');
# }

And the site now resolves. I'm not sure of the implications of that change, it appears that all it does is test a caching functionality. You may be able to get better input on that from the AbanteCart develoeprs or any support forums they offer. But for now it seems to be working.

Also opened a ticket with Softaculous - there is no problem installing any other script that I tested out, the problem is only with AbanteCart and it is getting to be quite irritating and should be rectified - please.

Brought this up a few months ago so wanted to know if there has been any update to this extension - Price Based Shipping

Still have a notice at checkout and view cart that they should not purchase tangible and digital goods at the same time - not very professional.  This should not be too big a fix since all the other carts either function properly (distinguishing digital from tangible) when using price based shipping. 

Would really like to hear about it - it's been some time now so I just might use a different script for downloads, but don't really want to if it can be avoided.

Used graphic banner and then tried text - the graphic works good but still on the left -- how to get rid of the little blocks as well - they show up on the left side of banner to show how many are in line?

Thank you abantecart - was indeed the cache and is fixed just now so we're good to go - - guess I should have done that first but was freaked out a bit, you know how it is, no?

Hi Abantecart - It's not a big thing, just when I look at the term I think of something else - I'd suggest maybe renaming it to refunds and returns - would it not still do the same thing or is it a large core change?  I understand how it works now that you explain it, hence the suggestion but I'm sure there are more important things to work on in core than that.
