Title: General features
Post by: temp on November 07, 2019, 03:02:18 AM
Hi,

I've been using OpenCart for my wholesale business but have run into several issues with it, so I'm considering trying out AbanteCart.

I've looked at the demo & browsed the manual but couldn't see the following features. Could someone please advise if the following are possible in AbanteCart? Thanks.

1. Can you add shipping fees after checkout has been completed and then resend the altered invoice?
2. Can you add an individual product code for the same sku numbers?
3. Is there an import/export feature or extension for products and categories from other carts (OpenCart)?
4. Is it possible to modify the CSS file for my theme/store or can you only modify the layout in the dashboard panel?

Thanks for any help & advice.

Hello. Welcome at AbanteCart forum.

Check the links & answers below

2. What do you mean, is SKU is not an unique identifier?

4. You can create, add, remove, move blocks inside admin panel

Thanks Basara,

Your help is appreciated. On point 2, maybe the easiest way for me to describe what I mean is for the database to hold an sku number & a serial number. After reading the links provided, it looks like AbanteCart is possibly too restrictive for my use, I've outlined the reasons below.

1. Looks like you can only add products & discount vouchers after checkout, rather than adding a fee, such as a shipping cost.
2. Can only hold one unique id number.
3. I didn't look at import/export functionality due to the other limiting factors.
4. No access to css file to adjust the look, feel & design of the web pages. Only block editing available.

If I've not fully understood AbanteCarts functionality or use, any pointers to help me understand it better are appreciated.
Thanks again.

here's some additional info :
1.  after customer enters order -  from within Admin - order -  you can change the shipping cost in the field by simply entering the amount.  Then save the changes,  and print and invoice.
2.  there are two fields for each product one is labeled  model,  the other is sku.  Sku normally refers to the stock location within a facility.   Model number identifies the specific product.
3.   The import /export function works well.
4.  You have access to the css file when you actually have AbanteCart installation on your local PC  or on a domain.  You are limited to your changes only by your skill level.

I recommend you install a test site on your domain - place it in a subfolder  - e.g   mydomain.com/abantecart
Recommend using Softaculous for the install to your domain  (easiest way)
