PERFECT~ Thanks - that did the trick, you just have to specify for each installation and map it locally with a rotate to conserve space.

Installation and Configuration / Table rate shipping module?
« on: April 12, 2017, 04:16:00 PM »
We are used to offering customers a table rate shipping option, spend 6.95 if order is under $19, 20 to 30, 5.95, 30-50 4.95 and over 50 free.  Is there any sort of way of doing this with abantecart?

Installation and Configuration / Tmp directory on server filling up
« on: January 30, 2017, 04:06:26 PM »
Our /tmp directory is filling up on the server as we have sessions from several abantecart installations dumping into it.  How do I change that?  Shouldn't it be dumping locally for that user instead of the server /tmp directory?

I am trying to understand. Do you need demo images or not?

If you select to skip loading demo data, you should not have any products or images loaded into the database. Images might be still in the directories, but you can delete them if needed.

You can import images with products or with resource library

In softaculous, I didn't see a way to skip loading demo data - that would be wonderful!

Support / Data Import /Export

Great cart!

Question on the IMPORTING of data (already thoroughly reviewed Abantecart docs on data import).

I have been doing this since the internet started and tested and worked on virtually every cart out there. (Abantecart is the best as we see it now, in speed and appearance...)

Imported using csv, txt, xml and api.   This tool has me a bit confused.  Am I understanding that we need to import products, then do another import of manufacturers, then a separate import of categories etc?  Having come from an heavily modified an customized easypopulate metric where we import a single spreadsheet, break it up into batches or manage server memory to avoid timeouts, this is giving me a bit of discomfort.

I have exported a sample product as instructed, but its assigned a category id already.  How does one get category NAMES to import, we have hundreds of cats and subcats and 250 manufacturers?

There has to be an easier way to do importing for the experienced people (even SQL statements)?  But I am not seeing that anywhere in the forums and have gone through about 40 posts dating back to when you started.  I fear for the new ecommerce store owner trying to do an import...

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a way to issue an SQL command to copy all from the SKU table to the MODEL table?  For someone with 35000 products, exporting products won't work even with high memory allocations.

Ideally there would be an easier way to do this as the sku is required to order from the distributor and it doesn't show up in print invoice.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for reply.  So is there no easier way to import categories and subcategories and manufacturers?  I have read the instructions but they simply omit those very important topics and I really see no step by step of how you are supposed to import thousands of products?

I think we figured out the bulk of the issue, for some reason the import created 1500+ categories (top) when it should be 14 with subcats.  We are reimporting and testing and retesting.  Will post speedup results here.  gzip set at 6 and cache turned on so we are squeezing what we can out of it.  We also have a server with php7 (cart works on fine btw) but will import into that too to see if we can narrow speedtests from each.

thanks!

What type of access? I can post php.ini info or other info or message confidential info, but were you wanting root access or ?  PM me if thats possible, thanks.

We installed the newest version of abantecart and all we did is import about 15k products with no images yet.  Right now, the speedtest is horrific at size
971.8kB
Load time
29.11s
Requests
90

And the server is throttled wide open, memory, time executions, etc.  Its not the server, its a quad core monster.  Any suggestions?  I hate to start adding images as the page will never load, lol.  29 seconds is really bad, the same products with images on oscommerce was pulling 1.8 seconds..?  ((ps Abantecart is WAAAAAY better than osc so I am always faithful here...!))

site is royalty pet supply dot com
