Can I get some general comments for users of website loading speeds I can expect or versus other ecommerce sites you have used ? thanks

I can speak from experience. Abantecart is probably one of the fastest on the market.
It will be hard to locate information what you ask as it is hard to compare all platforms, as they will need to be set up identical.

because it's one of the fastest I've ever tasted. But if you want to be sure, first mount it on a subdomain and test it.
