New Features Discussion / deleting products and media

Hi Abantecart admins.

Thanks a bunch for the new way to delete media from a product within the product pages as introduced in 1.1.8.   That's a really big improvement in my opinion.

I just have one additional request for the next version - can you possibly make so when you delete a product within the product listing pages, it will delete the link within the resource library?

If one has a linked image and deletes the product - it will happily delete your product, but it still leaves the mapping link on the image.  Thereby when you try to delete the image within the Resource Library it will fail because it has a mapped link.

This enhancement would add some enhancement to the wonderful cart.

look for catalog/product listing in the user group and see if it is on.

You as admin can go to the pages that you are having issue with for the users,  see whatt is called up in the URL and then look for it within the users group to see if it is turned on.

This is part of your learning how to manage your site - setting the functions for your user groups is entirely within your ability to manage.  It's just a matter of figuring out what switches to turn on.  After you worked on it a bit,  your will have a better understanding of what you need to do.

Needclarification on documentation please.

In Setting > General:
Allow Reviews :
Enable/Disable new review entry and display of existing reviews.

If I disable, then no reviews are allowed to be made an no reviews are shown, and reviews on the product pic is gone.

Within the Catalog > Reviews: one can turn a review off or on AFTER it has been submitted.
What I am looking for is a way to review the customer submitted reviews and approve them fr posting. Much as we can with approval of accounts.  Is there currently a way to do that?Need a way to keep out the crazies - not legitimate customers comments, and would be better to do that prior to the review being seen on the site.
IF not,  can we add that to the "would be great to have" in the next release requests?Lee

Just a comment here -  but by definition shouldn't FREE SHIPPING  be Zero?  Otherwise it wouldn't be FREE

Perhaps another shipping option like Flat Rate where you can control  the amount globally and per product would be better.

Read about the shipping options on the link Basara sent- you'll have a better understanding of what's available,

Here's the link to the documentation on User Groups.

Here's what it says about the difference between modify and access:
 
  • Access Permission
  Which pages members of this admin group can view. If a member of a user group that tries to view a page the user group does not have permission to view they will get a "Permission Denied!" page displayed.
 
  • Modify Permission
  Which pages that members of this admin group can modify. If a member of a user group that tries to modify a page the user group does not have permission to modify they will get a error message about permissions displayed.
Access means they can see the section,  Modify means they can edit the section.

May be off the mark here -  but there is already a block for the LATEST in the Templates -  you can change the Title in the block to say New rather than Latest

And you can change the number of items it shows within Settings > General   - Number of Items In Latest Block field

Seems like that might accomplish your New items without much trouble.

FYI,  I noticed when I ran the update to 1.1.8  it changed the .htaccess   back to .htaccess.txt.   Perhaps a reminder note in the update process would be useful if this happens on every update.

Just a note for the admins and others you have want rewrite activated.

Extension Support / Re: Product Features Tab missing after 1.1.8 upgrade

nothing in the error log. 

there seems to be several issues with the upgrade and my installation - which is out of the box,  no customization going on.
Just to double check here -  if I reload ALL of the 1.1.8 files to the existing using FTP  - please list the files I should NOT reload, like the config,

Extension Support / Product Features Tab missing after 1.1.8 upgrade

I have the Product Features extension installed - installed under 1.1.7  worked well. Since updating to 1.1.8 I am unable to find the tab in order to use the Product Features extemnsion.

 The extension is still installed and still on.  The products that have information in the tab are showing correctly in the product page  (see screenshot)

I have reloaded the extension.  Double-checked that is it set to ON.  But can not get the tab to re-appear in the Edit Products page.

I am starting with the Abantecart Admins for a solution as this seems to be an issue within the admin - edit product area,  but without being able to access the tab  - the extension is useless.  If admins believe it is not their issue, I will try getting help with Algozone - which usually is quite a useless process so am hoping admins here can resolve it.

Two thing here:
First - when clearing the cache you need to select the items to clear - or click on the Cache Type box to select all,  then click on the Clear Cache button at the bottom.  (I have often forgot to select the items to clear)

Next - I went to your site I suspect that you don't have your logo file mapped to the store logo location.
Under System > Settings > Appearance do you see your logo image in the Store Logo field?  Whatever is showing there is what will show up in the header.   

Abantecart has a rather unique method of identify graphicss files -  they usually look like this www......../ resources/image/18/76/7.jpg  where the numbers are system generated when you upload the file. 

 In order to set a logo simply Click on image that is showing to change it .  A popup will appear allowing you to upload a picture you like from your local computer or set a pre-existing one which is already uploaded in the images directory of AbanteCart.

You will know you have success, as you will see your logo on the Appearance Systems page

Here's a previous post on this,  and if you do a search in the above Search Box for multi vendor you can see where the Admins are on this aspect.   Currently - it is only for multi-store, not multi-vendor.

Currently you can manage all stores in one single admin interface.

However, we do have plans to make admin management per store selected  as well as making abantecart multivendor solution

Is there any update on if and when this functionality will be available?

I believe if you also post the error that shows in the log for the time you received this screen message the Admins could help you easier.

Just look in the System > Logs  then Error Logs.
