Upgrade / Upgrade to 1.2.5 Package Installer typo?
« on: November 14, 2015, 05:38:14 PM »
I just went to upgrade to 1.2.5 from 1.2.4 & the package installer shows the upgrade as abantecart_upgrade_124. After clicking continue the following shows, which lead me to not agreeing. Is it just a typo both times?

Attention!
AbanteCart is about to be upgraded to version 1.2.4!
Automatic full backup will be created. It is recommended to try upgrade on test site first.

General Support / Re: editor changes in v 1.2

Thanks handoyo, it did help. I was using Firebug but not finding what I needed, sure found it easily after a good night's sleep.  :)
Also, I didn't originally intend to hijack the thread. I started out having a moan about the ckeditor having less helpful features now & got carried away. Am suitably chastised by handoyo though.  ;D

I've just realised I can't use the CKeditor for changing the background colour of the banner slider. My HTML knowledge isn't great, have learnt enough to be able to change font colours & background colours on AbanteCart, thanks to people like Lee who are way more knowledgeable than I can ever hope to be. Does this mean I can't be lazy & edit the default banners and have to create my own in my Libre Office? Can you hear my scream of terror from Australia? Does anyone have a way of editing the background colour on the banner? I am not a fan of the blue, but can put up with it for a while. I've looked in the css in cpanel but can't find anything that matches background colour with main banner.
Sorry to hijack your thread Lee.

Support / Re: Net Banking directly in AbanteCart Store in India.
« on: January 17, 2015, 07:43:59 PM »
Would the Bank Transfer extension in AbanteCart Cart work for India? Go to Extensions/Payments/Bank Transfer. I will be using it in Australia, it's easy to set up. Many Aussie buyers still prefer to use bank deposit over PayPal or other credit card gateways, even though PayPal can be set to pay from bank accounts quickly & not just by e-cheque. I guess India specific gateways like CCAvenue & PayUIndia you would need to install yourself as AbanteCart doesn't have them as default or in the Extensions Marketplace.

General Support / Re: Locations Zones Problem for weight based shipping
« on: January 16, 2015, 06:28:23 AM »
Thanks Basara. When I read your reply my first thought was that I had already done all those steps & mentally called you silly. Oops, turns out I am the silly one. I hadn't thought to click the Add button in Location Zones to bring up the drop down list of countries & their zones. So I apologise for thinking you were silly.  ;D ;D  I did call myself worse than that, there was at least one swear word said.  ::)

General Support / Locations Zones Problem for weight based shipping
« on: January 15, 2015, 05:32:56 PM »
I just have 2 lots of things to do before listing some books & testing the order process in 1.2. This morning (Friday in Australia) I can't get the location zones to show when creating the locations for weight based shipping setup. The only one that has the zones, both country & state, is the USA one that was already installed. I have managed to modify that one to reflect Australian international shipping zones, zone 4 for Canada & USA. So at least I can send to there, but not to my country or others, lol. The countries & zones are all good, I have turned off the countries I won't be shipping to. I have tried with 3 browsers, Firefox Chrome & IE, to no avail. Can anyone help? I am so close to finishing setting up my site, I left shipping setup until almost the last as I thought it would be one of the quickest & easiest parts to do.  :) I have read the documentation, followed all the instructions on what to do, but have had no luck.

Installation and Configuration / Re: Logo size problem
« on: January 06, 2015, 04:29:19 AM »
I ended up fixing this problem. Had to drastically resize the logo, previous size was way less than the recommended size but was still too big. And I'm kinda glad I worked it out myself, I like learning new things & this kinda falls into that category.  :)

Thanks for those links Lee. They will be a big help in my learning curve ahead. First resolution in years is to finally get changed over to AbanteCart.

Try File Manager/whichever folder you have for AbanteCart 1.2/Download is 3rd top folder, change permissions for that to 0777 & most likely change any subfolders & files permissions too - there's only a few of them. I don't have downloads on my site so I'm only guessing with my advice. Would be wise to make a not of the original permissions so you can change them back if I'm wrong. Just a self taught wishes-she-was-better-at-it-all-cos-it-is-scary-stuff what my foster son calls tech-head. Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry it didn't help. Would checking if the permissions for downloads are changed to 0777 help? I just thought of checking permissions myself this morning (Jan 1 in Australia already). Had to find this page to remember which files to change.  :)  Damn, it won't let me post an external link, no matter which way I try to disguise it. It's in documentation/user manual/installation. My hosting is Linux so it was easy to change them.

Installation and Configuration / Logo size problem
« on: December 31, 2014, 05:15:01 PM »
I decided a while ago to start again with my AbanteCart store but never did much to it thanks to some health problems, so it wasn't a big decision late night Australia time to uninstall 1.18, after admin upgrade attempts failed, and then install 1.2 to start again, again. But the same logo I use on my current old free CS Cart site & used on both AbanteCart sites I started & stopped on is WAY too big on 1.2. I have resized it to no avail, it still shows as huge, covers most of the header area. I have checked in my cpanel & the size etc for the logo match what's in my first attempt's stylesheet (will uninstall this 1.17 when I have 1.2 how I want it, looks like another learning curve though).

And re the failed upgrades, yes my cpanel has all the suggested PHP versions & mysql & mysqli checked, so my host is very good. :)

Allow downloads is off by default in my settings. Try there. System/settings/general & Allow Downloads is near the bottom of the page. Hope that helps.

Sorry I haven't replied. I got in touch with my host here in Australia. Turns out it was a problem on there end, not exactly sure what but one of their techs worked on it overnight. It's all good now, much to my relief.  ;D
