Customization help / Design - Blocks banner_block (Critical Error)

Hi,

The main page banner block is not loading any images after I added a new one, tried deleting it but no joy.
I went to Design > Blocks and clicked on edit for both Main Page Banner Bottom & Main Page Banner Slider.
It takes me to an error page for both

There has been a critical error processing your request

Please check AbanteCart and webserver error logs for more details. You can check error log in the control panel if it is functional. Otherwise, refer to error log located on your web server

Can I delete/uninstall it and get the files again from the latest version?

Extensions and Add-Ons / Developers Tool - Theme Clone - Page Not Found

Hello again

Attempting to clone the default theme in version 1.2.2.

I installed the developers tool from this guide http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php?topic=1340.0
I get to step 3, select the default theme, click Save Layout XML.

Then it takes me to our online store to a page that says Page Not Found. not sure if there's an error,
When I check extensions, I can see my new clone_theme is there, in ftp, the folder is there with the layout.xmx

Maybe there's no error? just checking.

Had a look in /public_html/store/extensions/theme_clone/storefront/view/theme_clone
It's empty, no tpl files or anythign else there.

Customization help / Paypal Express Checkout & Paypal Standard (Change Cancel And Return URL Name)

I've noticed if I have the paypal express checkout and paypal standard enabled.
When a customer goes through the checkout to the paypal payment page, using either of the above.
The link at the bottom for "Cancel And Return To" shows the name set in my paypal account, not the name of the site.

Shouldn't it say "Cancel And Return To website" for the website it's actually returning to?
And what if you had more than 1 store? you'd obviously want a different name for each URL right?
Or at least change it to say: cancel and return to website, it would say this for all websites right?

I read something about editing SetExpressCheckout API.

Anyone know more about this?

Customization help / Question About Locations - Countries & Zones

Hey,

I have 3 locations, one is Rest of Europe.

When I'm in Locations, and start selecting European countries from the drop-down
Are all the zone correct to each country?

I had two locations set up, so if anyone went through the checkout,
And they weren't from one of the two locations I added, they're able to
Pick another country and go through checkout without any shipping total.

Should I turn off any other countries that I haven't added to locations?

Am I on the right track here?

Customization help / Turn Off/Move Scroll To Top

Hi,

Where can I find an option to turn off that scroll to top button that appears near the bottom, or can I move it.
Maybe I just need to change the theme width so the blocks on the bottom are not so far out to the edge?

Shipping Modules / Setting Up UPS Shipping Module For Dropshipping

Hi,

I have a scenario where we will be using 1 wholesaler from china for drop-shipping.
I'm not sure how to set up this default_ups module but I guess as some of the
products come from china, we should set the origin info for china. right?
What if we have more than 1 drop-shipper, what should we do?

Has anyone set up this module for drop-shipping services?
I'm getting a few errors when I go through the store checkout:

United Parcel Service (Weight: 130.00g)
111057: This measurement system is not valid for the selected country.

Does the info you enter in this module affect the final rates calculated?
Do we need to set up anything in our ups account for this to work?
All I did was sign up, request an api and entered the info in the module.

Pretty confusing stuff.

Hmm..

Should i create a custom css file for edits I do with chrome inspect elements?
If I apply these changes to the files in AbenteCart will they be overwritten if the cart updates?

Customization help / Customizing The Cart Block (Buttons Over Lapping)

Hi,

I moved a few blocks around the layout and the cart drop-down is a bit messed up, buttons over lapping etc.
Could I change the wordign in the buttons, like Cart instead of View Cart?

How do I fix the over lapping buttons and could I put a space/margin between the drop-down and the actual block?

Also in the drop-down, there's a little arrow/pointed above the drop-down, it's off to the left rather than pointing to the block it dropped down from.

General Discussion / Few questions about drop shipping

Hi,

Just looking for a bit of advice here to help speed things up, there's a few things I don't fully understand yet.

I don't know whether to set the products up by weights or what yet.

I'm working on a project where some of the site's products are drop-shipped, maybe from different companies.
Also some of them use different carriers, dhl, ups, ems, fedex, air mail etc. should I enable all of those modules?

I see in each shipping module, example: default_ups, there's an access key, username, password.
I don't have an account with any of these carriers, do I need to sign up to each and get this info?
What does it do exactly, does it auto update rates based of product weight or what? I don't understand.

The store uses Paypal, should I enable/configure both modules: Paypal Express Checkout and Paypal standards?

I have loads of thoughts, like I know a few companies offer their own api to connect your store to their's,
And automatically list their products on your site, is that what the API section is for under settings?

One example of a company offering API is china vasion, could I easily integrate their API for example?

Hi,

Is Misc Location shown in the front end or is it like a private note in the back end?
Like if I have a drop shipped product could I use Misc Location so I'd know where
that product comes from, without showing it to the customer in the front end?

But it still have an empty sub menu drop down.
How do I remove it? I want the home button to be just a home link
