As good as Abantecart seems, the errors that keep coming up in v1.2.5 are doing my head in. So now going to try another cart!!

About session check with your hosting support.
For the file permissions you dont need to edit files. You need to set file permissions via FTP manager or hosting Cpanel filemanager ww.a2hosting.com/kb/cpanel/cpanel-file-features/cpanel-file-manager/file-permissions

Ok, I have amended the permissions to 755, Read, write, execute - Read,write - Read,write.  It wouldn't let me change the first one to only Read,Write.

Have you been able to check the embed code?

I am new to all this so please bear with me.
I have a website hosted on with namesco, it is a Linux multi domain hosting package ( I was going to have 2/3 different websites) but currently have only one.
It says it is an Apache http server.
I have built a static page website using dreamweaver and my /Web folder. This is were the install of Abantecart is, location of Abantecart is in /web/Abantecart. this was the default location when I installed abantecart through namesco control panel.
Originally I downloaded version 1.2.4 through the server 1 click installs, then once that was done I upgraded to 1.2.5. I had yet to set anything up as I thought it would be better to upgrade to the new version before adding products and setting it up.

So my problems are now...
1, Your server is unable to create a session necessary for AbanteCart functionality. Check logs for exact error details and contact your hosting support administrator to resolve this error.
     I have had a look through the forum to rectify this but just can not figure it out!!

2, Incorrect config.php file permissions - /var/www/web/AbanteCart/system/config.php file needs to be set to read and execute modes to keep it secured from editing!
How do I alter the permissions to rectify this. All I have is the Abantecart control panel or my file manager on my Namesco server (I can only view or edit the code with this)

3, Incorrect index.php file permissions - /var/www/web/AbanteCart/index.php file is writable. It is recommended to set read and execute modes for this file to keep it secured and running properly!
Again, I do not know how to alter the permissions for this.

4, I have tried to embed a product on a test page international-tooling.co.uk/Pages/Xuron_Pages/Test_Xuron_Wire_Cutters1_170-11_Microshear_Range.html
When I open the product to embed the code I do not see the preview in the pop up window, also I am trying to add an Add to Cart button to the left of the product, I have only tried it with the top product so far and have had no success.

Please can someone help?

does it matter that I have not set up any payment gateways yet? - I do have a company paypal account, should I use this for the time being?
