General Discussion / Re: I think there may be a bug for product images
« on: August 19, 2014, 12:28:22 PM »
not to dispute your take -  but it seems to me that it is operating as it should.   If you look at the top of the pic,  it remains in the same placement relationship to the Title.  The bottom moves up or down depending on the size of the pic and it keeps the relationship of the "Move..."  (zoom feature)  the same .

On yours,  the top placement actual moves also ( in addition to your spacing issue) as you go from pic to pic.  That's the area you need to look at for what may have adjusted the coding.

Leastwise that's my take on the issue.

But your site is really coming along -

Hi,  in the documentation section  there is a list of the file permissions necessary for the cart to work correctly.
Here's the link to the doc pages (they are quite useful when learning about this cart)
http://www.abantecart.com/ecommerce-documentation/20-installation

The files are
For Linux/Unix make sure the following folders and files are writable.
chmod 0777 system/config.php chmod 0777 system/ chmod 0777 system/cache/ chmod 0777 system/logs/ chmod 0777 image/ chmod 0777 image/thumbnails/ chmod 0777 download/ chmod 0777 extensions/ chmod 0777 admin/system/backup/

Check to see if you're permissions are set as suggested.

Hey Ron and Victor,  I too had some difficulties getting the parameters correct -
but here's what the admins came back with,
http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,2488.msg10576.html#msg10576

and I have set mine, up like this and have no issues getting all the correct notifications.  Note: this is different than what Ron indicated.

So if you have enabled the notify owner -  it uses the email that is in system > settings

And I leave the Mail parameters blank.
Then add additional email alerts to the box.

Victor,  I do think it is something you've introduced by your code changes in some way.
Here's a link to one of my sites that has 3 images -  and I don't have the issue you are seeing.

http://countrysnackbucket.com/shop/chcolate-covered-fruits/choc-covered-raisins

and here's one from someone else's site

http://chrinaluc.ca/index.php?rt=product/product&product_id=120

You'll note that even though the pictures are different sizes -  the gap between the pic and the  mouse move stays the same.

Perhaps you can examine the code on the demo for that area and see what you might have changed.

good luck

Support / Re: Can refunds be issued from Abantecart?
« on: August 17, 2014, 10:13:08 AM »
The "refunded" in the status is only a note as to status,  like pending, shipped, etc.

You can apply a CREDIT to a customers account for them to use against future purchases.  You will need to go to whatever payment process you are using to send actual money back to the customer.  Example,  if using PayPal,  simply log into your PayPal account,  find the transaction and click on the "refund" button.   Most gateway processing has a similar process.

my suggestion is to NOT use GoDaddy for your cart.   I use them for my domain purchases, and they are good for that.  But other code developers I have worked with won't even code for me if I am on a GoDaddy server.

Check out A2 hosting  -  there's a link on the home page of this board.   I have all my abantecarts there,  and they know how to get your account configured for Abantecart.

Again just my suggestion.  And they give great 24/7 support -  via tickets,  live chat,  or phone -  never surly when you need help,  they just help and say thank you.

Your last post seems to indicate a different issue than the one about categories.   This board works best if you limit a post to one issue, then open up a new post with a new issue.

In regards to the categories displaying correctly-  I am still seeing only the pages that you have indicated are correct.  Did the clearing of the cache fix the categories issue on your PC?  If not,  suggest opening a different browser,  Chrome or Firefox, or IE  and see how it looks.

The last issue regarding content/content needs a new post to get the most efficient help.

Vict

Did you notice on the one you list as having too much space,  if you select the second pic -  that pic moves down and the spacing is consistent with your one pic product.

My "guess"  is it may have to do with the size of your images that are uploaded -  they may need some tweaking.   Compare them for originating size and see if that will make a difference.  Check to see if there is white space in the first pic at the bottom that may be causing the issue.  OR there has been some tweak in the code that make multiple pics act differently in presentation.

It is now about 5 hours after you post -  so you may have fixed the issue.

I am seeing the layout that you have indicated as correct.

Abantecart employs a robust cache system -  when you are making changes and they don't seem to appear for you -  be sure you clear the cache in the Admin Panel  -  it is located under System.   A check mark is required to clear the cache.  There is a global one located at the top of the listings.  I usually just clear everything.

Then of course,  you will need to refresh you browser window to flush your PC cache also.  (Cntl + F5)  is usually enough.

If you're still seeing the "wrong" screen trying clearing all the caches.

Support / Re: Products Do Not Line Up
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:44:21 PM »
someone else had this issue previously - the solution there was to  make the category names short enough to fit on one line.   You will notice in your screen shot  that whenever there is a two line name  the next line drops and starts up in the space after the two line.

If you can't reduce the length the category name,   then the stylesheet will need adjustment.   Perhaps one of the abantecart admins can tell us where that can be done.

General Support / Re: How to exclude 2 states from Free Shipping?
« on: August 07, 2014, 12:56:41 PM »
Are you using the Free Shipping Extension?  If so,  you can control thru the locations that are enabled within the extension settings.   I believe you will have to enable all the individual states.

John , are you referring to the email that is sent when the order is first submitted?  If so,  then you don't have something configured correctly yet,  OR there was a glitch when the extension installed.

I have this extension on several on my sites and they do use the Thank You xml on the email,  and the logo,  and the any notification from the customer.

I would suggest you try reinstalling the extension.

on the html5default template there is a LATEST block already available to use.   It pulls the date added from the database to show new products.

Simply enable that block on your home page layout.

You can easily change the Latest Products to whatever you want to label it - this is done within the language definitions.
Easiest way to find it is to type Latest in the search box on the admin panel and it will bring up all the places you can alter the wording.

You can change how many Latest (New) porducts are shown within the system > setting > general   tab

Customization help / Re: How to get my images to fit banner size

Sorry Victor -  beyond my skill set.
I just shared what I do.

It's only one little line of code ;) and it is only the color.

Hopefully  someone else will get you what you need.
