How-to questions / About weight being displayed worng
« on: March 08, 2018, 03:00:48 AM »
Hi guys  :)

I have an issue here with some of my products' display during checkout.

So let us assume the following:

Product A: weight is displayed correctly during checkout

Product B: weight is NOT displayed correctly during checkout

Keep in mind that I use the weight-based shipping option.

Now...

What happens is that during checkout:

Product's A weight is displayed correctly (i.e. 1 kgr shows as 1kgr) and hence shipping costs are calculated OK.

Product's B weight is displayed twice as much as the actual weight: for example, 1kgr ----> becomes 2 kgr ?!

Going through the documentation, I observed that if in the product options you do add weight this will be added and calculated during the checkout of the product.

And indeed Product A did not have that label in the product options... so I went ahead and deleted the weight label of Product B.

In other words, the product options of Product B and Product A are the same.

Nevertheless, the problem still persists... Any ideas guys why?  :-\

How-to questions / Re: about paypal
« on: March 08, 2018, 02:42:14 AM »
Hi Basara,

I checked the master zip etc.

So far my store works fine.

Here is the thing: Paypal standard works OK!   :)

But when I read through these comments: http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,5948.msg25545.html#msg25545

I got a little worried.

The members there talked about a paypal standard version v1.2.11 while both in the master zip and the store that I have I am using the paypal standard version of 1.0.2.

So it is more a theoretical question rather than an actual issue.

Any insights?  :)

How-to questions / about paypal
« on: March 07, 2018, 12:55:23 AM »
Hi guys I have a couple of questions:

after reading through this post

http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,5948.msg25545.html#msg25545

I amcurrently running  v1.0.2 PayPal standart how can I upgrade to  v1.2.11 PayPal standart or the AbanteCart new version 1.2.12 that I read about here:

https://abantecart.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AD/blog/2017/12/27/29294833/AbanteCart+new+version+1.2.12 ?

The reason I am asking is because when I try to log into paypal, through abantecart, login fails. Also the credentials (aka email address in the paypal extemsion is correct).

Any advice guys?

Additional Note/Update:

When I switch the "Sandbox (Test) Mode" from yes -> to NO... the process works!

Now, here are 2 additional questions:

Is it safe?

And why would I need the "Sandbox (Test) Mode"?

AbanteCart v2.0 / Re: About redirections
« on: February 22, 2018, 02:40:39 AM »
Hi Basara, regarding the SSL certificate it was OK; so much I knew.

To be honest, and regarding the redirections, it was thanks to sam, who basically told me about how to do it.

But once I did the redirection that is when all my trouble started.

So I did contact the guys from my host-provider and thankfully they were able to sort it out for me.

As we speak all the links from the online store are https now... even the admin panel...

AbanteCart v2.0 / About redirections

Hi guys, here is another suggestion that I personally did experience and could be very useful to Abantecart's upgrade.

Here is my personal experience:

Since we are creating an online store we want all our customers to visit our store in the https form (for security reasons plus for the fact that when our customers see the green "lock" they feel more secure).
Another reason why I wanted to do this, was because I am using a third-party template so I had css conflicts with the https and http urls. In my case the https was showing everything OK but not the http url. So yes, I wanted everyone to be send to the https url.

Frankly speaking I did not know how to do it and thanks to a member in here (thank you sam  :) ) I was finally able to do it!

However, I came across some serious issues afterwards:

1. One issue was that because the admin panel sends you to an http address (at least that is my case) I got locked out of it.
2. Second issue: Even if your https-address  store appears to be working correctly, when a customer tries to log in (due to another http case) you get hit with a critical error.

Consequently, and because I was unable to resolve all this stuff by myself, I did contact the guys of my hosting provider who thankfully did resolve the entire thing for me.

Bottom line is this: I do not know how much programming it may require, but just keep in mind the conflicts that may occur between https and http urls and regarding the marketplace... that the extensions are able to work in these (or both) urls... you do not want developers to get smashed for something like this.

Just throwing some ideas, with friendly regards  :)

AbanteCart v2.0 / Re: Supplier Extension
« on: February 19, 2018, 01:24:38 PM »
Hi maxter,

first off, what do you mean with bundle features exactly?

Regarding the supplier features (keep in mind that I am expressing my personal opinion here)...

Regarding Abantecart, sure there are things that could be added and to be advanced further... nevertheless, as it is (I have the latest version of Abantecart) it can present an online store that works and does the job very good (so respect to the guys who developed it).

However, while I am about to go online with my store, I came across a shipping-supplier issue that did surprise me in a "negative" way.

Here is why...

Assume that you have two suppliers in 2 different cities (or even countries).
So let us say that both of them sell 2 different products each.
In this case we have:

Supplier 1 (city One/country), Products: A and B

Supplier 2 (city Two/country), Products: C and D

Consequently, if a customer comes to your store and wants to buy all 4 products, from both suppliers, no matter what you do, no matter how you calculate shipping costs (I have already gone through all documentation)... you will never be able to estimate accurate shipping costs...

And that is why I proposed something like the supplier extension, to exist in Abantecarts core/default features (currently one of it exists in the marketplace - I am waiting for the updated version of it).

This extension, basically resolves the entire issue.

In other terms, and always speaking from my point of view, this is a must have shipping feature to be included a future Abantecart version because it allows the store-owner to implement multiple suppliers and to accurately calculate shipping costs etc.

Obviously enough, I do not know how much programming has to go into the entire process ... I just made a suggestion with friendly and constructive intentions.  :)

Support / quick question about https and http
« on: February 18, 2018, 02:13:03 PM »
Hi guys, I have a quick question...

When I go to the store through https the css works fine.

When I go to the store through http the css has some flaws (i.e. some icons on it do not appear).

Obviously, once I go online I will directly link the store to the https... but is this something normal?

PS: I am using a third party theme extension...

Just wondering...

AbanteCart v2.0 / Supplier Extension
« on: February 18, 2018, 02:08:44 PM »
Just throwing an idea here...

I did open a topic here:

Code: [Select]
http://forum.abantecart.com/index.php?topic=6277.0

and after a discussion I had with llegrand

it became obvious that abantecart does lack that option...

So it would be great if you guys could come up with such an option (if possible of course) if we could bundle the products to the specific suppliers and to be able to send/ship them accordingly; which also would allow for more accurate shipping. (see attached pic)

Just as an idea.

PS: I did contact the guy of the supplier extension

Code: [Select]
https://marketplace.abantecart.com/supplier?v=586

if he/she intends to upgrade it for the current AbanteCart version but so far nothing... so far my shipping costs cannot be accurately calculated or I will have to "push" the cost to the customer... which would suck  :-[

Hi,

I did indeed use the inspector of google to get the div id... (but according to what you posted... it appears that I did see the wrong id? frankly... I do not know)...

Now, what I did was to insert at the bottom of the extension's css file the following:

Code: [Select]

@media only screen and (max-width: 500px) {
section.slider {
    display: none;
}

}

similarly I did apply the code at the end style.response.css and the onebyone.css

No need to do that? I guess... what I am quite positive that one of these three css file are affecting the slider...

I did clear the cache of firefox... but nothing so far...

I guess I will have to wait for a while for probagation to do its thing? I don't know...
