Delete the install directory after installing
« on: August 21, 2013, 02:20:26 AM »
I just installed the latest version. Everything went just as the Installation instructions described. The last instruction then is:

"Delete directory public_html/mydomainname.com/core/install from your AbanteCart installation!"

There is no "install" folder in the "core folder, so I thought it's a mistake in the instructions and I deleted:

public_html/mydomainname.com/install

But when I clicked to go to my main page, or anywhere, I now get this error message:

"There has been an error processing your request
Please check error log for more info. You can check error log in the control panel if it is functional. Otherwise, refer to error log located in your web server
Go to main page"

If there was no "install" folder in the "core" folder, what was/am I supposed to delete??

Also, what do I need to do now?

You are correct about public_html/mydomainname.com/install
There is no other install folder.

About your error, you need to post here last few lines from the log file right after the error happened.

We will correct the manual

We will correct the manual

1 - I was able to figure out what happened, or more correctly... what DIDN'T happen!  NONE of my database information was added to the system > config.php file!!  As soon as I added it all, my storefront displayed immediately.  Something went very wrong!

2 - Something else went VERY wrong, too... I not only can't log in with the admin name and password that I specified... when I then clicked "Forgot password" to reset the password, I got this error message:  "No match for Username and Email."!  Where, in what file, or in the database, do I enter my admin information?  Is there a default admin name and password that I can use first?

Thank you

I was able to figure out where the admin login information is stored in the database, and I fixed the problem.

Thanks anyway.
