Best practice to use for rental items
« on: March 31, 2023, 02:44:38 PM »
Im building an e-commerce site for an industrial equipment suppler, and for parts and general sales its working well however im at a loss how to enter a product as a rental item.

We rent the equipment per day, with delivery for a fixed price.  Whats the best practice to enter this as a product in AbanteCart cart? Is there a plugin that would be better suited for this?

Hello.
You need subscription extensions. They will allow you to create subscription-based products

Hi,   I have a different thought on your question -  you are NOT having them subscribe to a service.  It seems to me you are wanting to offer them different lengths of time for renting some equipment.

I believe that would best be handled by the options that are built into the core products  - some info is found here:
https://abantecart.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AD/pages/9568257/Manage+Products+Options

A rough example:
You have a product  -  lawn mower,   you want to offer it for half day,  or 1 day,  or 2 days  or whatever  -  each length of time can have a different  pricing point

and you can add a option for delivery .  or ask us about our delivery extension which may be of interest to you,  currently not available thru the MarketPlace.
