Add To Cart Button Not Showing Shopping Cart

(1/1)

My embedded test pages have started to behave differently. This includes the one linked to in my previous post https://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,10739.0.html
Previously the Add To Cart button opened the shopping cart, now it just adds to the total, showing the cart icon. Clicking the cart icon then opens it. Clicking on the picture also opens the cart.
Thinking that I may have messed up the settings I did a fresh AbanteCart install in a new folder, I changed nothing, leaving all settings as installed. I then created a test page from a new clean html file, pasting the auto generated code from the new install with exactly the same results. Tried with modal, cart in new window & cart in same window, all with the same results. Tried in several browsers on two computers. Sample pages were created using a test item with no options.
I'm quite happy with it working this way, less clicks for the customers. I assume I'm missing something (probably obvious) in the settings, if so I need to know what before I unintentionally change things again.

Hello. If the product includes options, the product page will be displayed. If there are no required options, the product is added to the cart as supposed to be for "Add To Cart button"

Norvician:
Thank you, that explains it. Now just need to sort the modal box issue before starting on the site.

It sounds like you’ve encountered a change in behavior with the Add To Cart button in your AbanteCart setup. Since you've done a fresh install and tested it with a clean HTML file, it seems that the functionality might be tied to the settings or perhaps a recent update or change in your theme or extensions.

Here are a few suggestions to help troubleshoot the issue:

Check Settings: Go through the settings related to the cart behavior in the AbanteCart admin panel. There might be an option that controls how the Add To Cart button functions.

Inspect Extensions: If you have any extensions or custom modifications installed, try disabling them one by one to see if they affect the behavior of the Add To Cart button.

Theme Compatibility: Ensure that the theme you are using is compatible with your current version of AbanteCart. Sometimes, themes can override default behaviors.

JavaScript Errors: Open your browser’s developer tools and check for any JavaScript errors that might be preventing the cart from functioning correctly.

Documentation: Review the AbanteCart documentation or community forums for any recent changes regarding cart behavior or settings.

If you find that everything is set correctly and the issue persists, you might want to reach out to the AbanteCart community for further assistance, as there could be others who have experienced a similar issue.
