mySqli with Softaculous - how to help

After testing several ways,  the only way I see to get MySQLI is thru FTP upload and install, choose MySQLI on the Abantecart install routine.

There doesn't seem to be any way to choose MySQLI on a Softaculous install.  And I do not know how to call it after the install.  My preference would be to use the Softaculous installer as it is much faster than FTP upload and has a couple of nice additional features.  I am running all the correct versions to support MySQLI.

Any input into this would be great.

Thanks

In the folder /core/database you can see two files: amysqli.php and mysql.php
I am not really sure, though, when the system picks one or the other. MySQL is soon being deprecated and it is not a good idea to keep working on it.
My two cents  :)

Exactly right cbarg...we need to get away from SQL...but as Lee pointed out, using the cPanel installer, there is NO option to use mySQLi

Softaculous needs to get with the program

Maybe we need to tell Softaculous about this?

I just posted a question about this on the Softaculous support forum.

Waiting for an answer!
