Resource library - description box

Within the resource library when one goes to the edit resource area -  there is Title  - which I know what it does,  but there is also Description - a rather large field allocated.  My question is what doe that field do?  And where does it show up?

This is mostly reserved or internal functionality. users can store details about asset, extensions can use these information.
