Can order output file be customized for Quickbooks?
« on: September 13, 2014, 11:18:41 AM »
I need Abantecart order.csv file to output one item per line. Is this possible? Right now, all items are lumped together on the same line for any given order.

Ollie,  take a look at this previous post  I think it will get you on the path to manage your database information as you wish.

Thank you, Lee. I visited mysqlreports.com. Is Smart Report Maker what I need? Do you know if it's easy to use?

Yes,  it is Smart Report Maker.  I find it easy.  this one is relatively inexpensive and supported.

Here's a video of how it works.  http://mysqlreports.com/tournew.html

and an online demo  http://mysqlreports.com/demo/wizard/step_2.php

There are free open-source ones out there, too.  And if you are familiar with Microsoft Access -  you can you that also.
You can even use Excel and an ODBC connection to pull it down.  Here's a good how-to on that.
http://kidakaka.com/blog/2013/01/01/connecting-mysql-to-excel-using-odbc-connector/

They all work somewhat the same way -  one needs a way to connect to the Database file,  select the information one wants, and pull it down into a report or spreadsheet configured how you need to look or perform.  The difference is in how much automation is built into the software to assist one.  Also,  in regards to the Abantecart you often need to pull info from multiple tables - so be sure your selection allows for that.
