SEO URL not working

Hi,

I have edited my .htaccess file and also put subdirectory name as instructed and also enabled SEO URL in settings. Now the product page is accessible through the SEO URL but only if i manually enter it in the browser. If i click on view button in product in admin then it still shows the non seo URL. So system is not generating the SEO URL for clicking on view button.

I am not allowed to post links hence cannot share links. Note that my cart is installed in a subdirectory.

What am i missing here?

Admin should not generate SEO link. Go to storefront and locate your product with search or in category - url will be SEO
