Create a new store (How to?)
« on: December 25, 2011, 01:58:46 AM »
Dear All,

I have setup one store the default one at "example.com"

I want to run another store, using the feature of having the ability to manage both stores from one admin.

The second store will be at "used.example.com"

I dont see any documentation regarding it, however i am able to create the additional store, on the (interface)

but what is the next step on deploying the new store at the location "used,example.com" ?

Do i need to make a fresh installation, will this installation use the same db as the primary store?

Any advice, is most welcome, thanks in advance guys...

You do not need to install second copy of abantecart. After you create and configure the setting for second store in the control panel, you need to point your DNS records for second domain to the same location as first domain.

Hope this helps

Dear AbanteCart Admin,

Any suggestions? as it did not work for me.

1. I am using Virtual hosts.
2. I have "xample.com" as the primary store.
3. I made the DNS records for "second.xample.com" point to the primary store "xample.com"

Still when i access the store, after configuring and creating a new store from admin->Settings.

I am still getting the same primary store, while accessing the secondary store.

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Dear Basara,

Thanks for that information, However i am not using cPanel. but i was able to get it working with the information provided by you guys :) ...

Hence i just created another virtual host manually in the apache conf files (Subdomain) and pointed to the same directory as the root directory of the primary store.

Now everything is working perfectly, I have been testing and studying this product. so that i can deploy it for one of our first and major project that we intent to launch in India. for which after studying most of the Available open source, products we shortlisted abantecart :)

We are planning to go live soon ... :) Must admit personally i love this store script a lot.

You guy's have done a great work. Can we expect more details on the website soon? about the project..
