Import (Upload) Products via CSV format
« on: October 31, 2012, 01:31:31 AM »
What columns are REQUIRED in a product import (Insert) CSV file for the products to go straight in the storefront for sale without any having to tweak each one individually in the products page ?

Thanks in advance,
Q :)

Hello
For import products from CSv file without the need to configure each product separately, your archive with CVS files must contain next CVS files (not columns)

Apologies for missing user manual for import/export. We are closing the gap and It will be available soon.

In addition, more control for import/export will be added in next version.

Patience and help greatly appreciated.

1. So let me see if I got this right or not, Once you are completed in excel make sure you save it in a CSV format that is "next CVS files (not columns)" and everything separated by my choose of a "comma"?
2.  Also where do you put your URL for the products image that you want the system to capture and use in your store?  I am including a attachment showing you what I have from my supplier to use and build a cvs file for importing into the system maybe it will better help you explain where all I need to put it? Also all products are Free Shipping but are sold only to the US & Canada.

Thanks so much,
Quenncy

So I am confused on why to use the CSV importing process if it can't include images, I mean if you have to upload multiple images for every item (1000 or more) then what is the whole idea about.

Trying to understand the thought here.

Thanks,
Quenncy

In AbanteCart v1.1.2 you can upload images via FTP to ./resources/image/ folder and modify your SCV file with correct file names and path.

See SCV examples for INSERT at the bottom of this page http://docs.abantecart.com/pages/tools/import.html
