Gentlemen

Needless to say, I am a newbie.

I installed abantecart 1.2.7 using installatron on godaddy and it did not ask me for any secret_admin key during the installation as the documents suggest. Now the admin url comes like example.com/index.php?s=32charNumsAndlowercaseLetters

Is there a way to make it more user freindly. Like say what the doc says secretAdmin maybe :)

Also the installation did not ask for any DB user, it only said it will create a user, tables etc. Now I am not sure what is the user passwd is, would it be the same as user?.

If yes, is there a way to change it without breaking the app. What I mean is if I change it in the database settings in cPanel where in the app config files do I need to change it. Would be clear text or encrypted in the app config files. Can I just ignore the whole thing and what would happen if I need to restore a old db copy may be in the event of a db corruption may be.

Thanking you in advance  :D

regards

Welcome thahirkk to AbanteCart.

I think when you installed, you did not use standard AbanteCart installation process.
If you use standard process of AbanteCart installation, it is all explained.

Hi Mr Admin

As I mentioned I installed the app thru the cPanel installatron. There was only one option and it never really asked any questions other than the admin user.

The url after the installation is having some random long name. I can click on it the page loads and I can login using the admin user.

So I guess I will have to live with the first part.

Now the second part, I can see the DB details in config.php I assume the password for the DB provided is encrypted there. How can I replace the passwd since I assume the passwd might be just the user name. I could be wrong. I would need the passwd in case I need to do any manual DB ops right.

If I manage to change the passwd in the db using cPanel where all do I need to change it in the app to ensure it wont break it.

thanks and regards

Mysql password in config file is not encrypted. If you change it, you need to update password in your Mysql on cPanel as well or vs.
