incorrect file permissions

Hi,

I read prior post on this but need additional clarification.

I get the error messages:

/public_html/exchange/index.php file is writable. It is recommended to set read and execute modes for this file to keep it secured and running properly!

Same with config.php

My question is:

- Do index.php and config.php need to remain writable while configuring my installation and adding products? Or can I change permissions and continue populating my store?

Hi.
In case when config.php have no any content, you should to make it writable to install AbanteCart.
Once after installation you can make it read-only. Index.php can be read-only always.
