The shipping and payment options do not appear on my site. I have installed the extensions that fit my needs and I edited them. I have also ensured that my location settings are set. I really have no idea why there is no shipping and payments in the site.

Do you have Flat rate shipping installed? If so please go to its settings page and save settings again.
Any other shipping methods enabled in your store?

'Minimum order value' caught me out. If the value of the order is less than the minimum you have set  for shipping, shipping won't appear. The value is in currency.
