Website suddenly looks like it lost css

Hello,

I installed Abantecart for a friend a couple days ago and everything was perfect, but today he says the main page is all over the place, he says he hasn't done anything but it looks like something is missing or edited incorrectly, i'd appreciate if someone could take a look and advise what the problem could be.
In system logs this is what is shows:
parsing error: AbanteCart core v.1.2.14 syntax error, unexpected '[' in <b>/home/xxxxxxx/public_html/shop/storefront/controller/responses/product/product.php</b> on line <b>133</b>

parsing error: AbanteCart core v.1.2.14 syntax error, unexpected '&' in <b>/home/xxxxxxx/public_html/shop/admin/controller/responses/product/product.php</b> on line <b>589</b>

database error: AbanteCart core v.1.2.14 SQL Error: Table 'serenity_abant20.xxxx_settings' doesn't exist
Error No: 1146
SQL: SELECT se.*
FROM xxxx_settings se
WHERE se.store_id = '0'
AND se.`group` NOT IN (SELECT `key` FROM abay_extensions) in <b>/public_html/shop/core/database/xxxsqli.php</b> on line <b>114</b>

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Well this is strange, I made a new clean installation from softaculous and the same problem, the main home page looks like the css is corrupt and everything is just all over the place...

What can be the problem?

Try to change PHP version to 5.6 or higher

database error: AbanteCart core v.1.2.14 SQL Error: Table 'serenity_abant20.xxxx_settings' doesn't exist
Error No: 1146
SQL: SELECT se.*
FROM xxxx_settings se

Error mean the important database table is missing. Software will not work if database broken, have missing tables or simply moved

You can add again CSS or pick the file from the website backup
