Square Extention Error

Hello

having some trouble with the square extension. have to use square - this is a registration site for a charity event, square is their established/only payment vendor.

when I edit the square extension I get a good test connection have my ID and Token up. Every time I turn the status on and save it reverts back to off. If I turn status on from the larger payment extension menu I get an error message

Cannot enable extension "square". Please fill all required fields on settings edit page.

for the square ext edits - everything is filled in. Unsure what I am doing wrong.

do I have to enable it from some other top level menu?
I can enable "COD" payment that seems to work ok.
