There is no way yo set 2 instances for the same payment and this will not help.

I think additional setting for each download will help in this case.
Setting can control when download is allowed.  Allow download: [Immediately, After Completed Payment, Manual]

In you case it would be Immediately after order is placed.

Make sense?

Hmm.. I see.

Well in the store settings I see the option for Downloadable Product, and is set to Complete.

In Paypal, I guess I need to set the Required Payment - Status option to Complete as well.

It will only change the invoice to Complete if payment is successful, right?

You can have setting for Download Order Status to pending and download will be available before you complete the order.

As I stated before, I see that improvement is required in this section. We will work on this.
