Error message after importing csv file with url to product images

I get the error message below everytime when I try to import to products from a csv file with the images column set to image url or path database
I have tried numerous options from the csv. actual url publicly accessible, to using ftp and uploading to server various locations. everytime i get the same error. I've deleted all the products, imported a small test file.

Error: Unable to copy file resources/image/upload/ac866-bulk-model-corrected_2.jpg to /home/www/fabuloustemptations.biz/abante_cart/resources/image/ac866-bulk-model-corrected_2.jpg

usually is you have such error message in the log this means you have a issue with permissions.
Please check it for directory resources/image. It must be writable for web-server system user.
