How to display categories on phone

TeamGator:
We have a web site in AbanteCart and on a desktop on the main page we show our Categories which then go to products.  When we look at the site on a phone on the home page it just shows featured products and the categories are not visible (short of using the go to option).
What do we need to do to make the categories and products visible/usable on phones?

The categories are in the Go to the menu due to small spaces on mobile.
You can replace the default template menu with 3rd party menu extensions https://marketplace.abantecart.com/navigation
