I tried to upgrade to 1.3.3 but it said I needed to change htaccess.txt to .htaccess
I did this but still could not get site to upgrade. I discovered that current site will not go to my AbanteCart site from home page. I have tried to change htaccess back to htaccess.txt without success. I now discover that there is more than one file with this name as you drill down further but I only changed one in Public HTML.
Where have I gone wrong?

Hello.
Do you have AbanteCart installed in your server root folder (/path/public_html/ or /path/www/) or in the subfolder like /path/public_html/some_directory/ ?

The .htaccess file can be added automatically by your server/hosting so you need to add AbanteCart rules after the rules added by your hosting
