I am using Novator, AbanteCart Version 1.4.2

Could someone advise what might be wrong with the email that end customer gets with regards to order updates?

In the Order, you can set a status, add a comment and set to notify the customer.  But the email the customer gets is just black, the template isnt populating and its not posting the comment or order data.

Could anyone help please?

I've been trying to do the same thing.  Even reviewing the customers preview of their order which actually shows the image against the product purchase line, but using this code so far hasnt worked...  yet.

Maybe someone has since sorted it but if this is known or could be shared it would be apprecaited.

Im just getting the opportunity to follow up on your advise....

Just to clarify (or ask) I am not sure I quite follow, or if there is a bug or issue with the standard template.

As I stated before (and I am not trying to hijack this thread) based on this topic, about refunds, I seem to be missing some of the bits your referring to. Maybe this is why I am slightly lost.

As I have advised before currently we dont use a gateway at the moment at all, so its all cash and standard application (no api's ect).

So I am slightly lost when trying to follow up on your comment about the customer transactions.  I have noticed (as an example) that one customer of ours has 9 orders in the last 2 months, but these do not show at all in the transactions screen... why would this be?

Surely this should show their orders or have I a setting not set somewhere?

As there are no transactions, I cannot perform the refund stated in the documentation.  (https://abantecart.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AD/pages/10747961/Customers+Transactions )

I assume an update will include this at some point?

Thats great, but I need ideally to give a "Credit Note" (with a Credit Note unique Number) to the customer, so they can apply the credit to their system too.  Otherwise they just have a invoice which they may have paid and no way to negate the invoice.  Legally you cannot delete an invoice, so you raise a credit note to negate the amount paid.

If there is a way to create the credit note with a unique number and print it, then thats great... but I cannot see a way to do it...

So lets say (in our scenario) :

Customer Orders
Order Invoice is created and printed with an invoice number.
Order is delivered and cash is paid to the amount of the invoice.
Customer  / Company wishes to return the item (for whatever reason) and needs a refund and credit note.
I (as you say) can apply a credit on the Abante system, which will address the financials on Abante but the customer will need to be given a credit note (plus the cash funds).  This is the normal way this should be done.

We are a small business at the moment, but we might have to move to another solution, currently we are creating manual credit notes... which is not ideal

Glad I could help.... I'm still working on the email templates.  I get what you have said, but the point I'm making is that we need additional hooks I think or words to that effect to bring in certain data, which is available elsewhere on other platforms. I'll get back to you on this when I get chance.

#2 - This has also been resolved partly thanks to this kind person on this thread here https://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,11403.msg43634.html#msg43634 with their post #9.  IDEALLY I want to add this same feature to the EMAIL (as I have said before, which would be great too). 

#3 - Not resolved - This REALLY is a straight forward change to a view I think and would massively improve the Abante.

#4 - Not resolved - This really is a nice to have...  BUT would be a VERY nice to have if it was possible.  Currently animated gifs just show the frame 1.

#5 - This is resolved partly, but needs enhancements.  Its a bit clunky and we need more hooks to pull data easily into the email template. 

#6 - This is pending a fix having been accepted as an issue.  This is not resolved and hopefully will be in a future release.

#7 - TBA.

Images to help explain my point 2.  This issue affects both Discounts and Specials.

First image shows I only have GBP Sterling enabled.



In products > Promotions, when I try and add one for my product I only have $ or a % available.  It should offer me £ or % not $ and %.


I could try deleting the $ but thats not going to bring the £ back.




Standard template Novator, AbanteCart Version 1.4.2

I got the following system internal message:

"Important: Upgrade your AbanteCart with the patch version 1.4.2.1 Please click --> this link to start the upgrade. This release addresses a security vulnerability in Page Builder (CVE-2025-50972). Impacted Versions All 1.4.x versions Is the Upgrade Required? If Page Builder is enabled and actively used, upgrading is strongly recommended."

I followed the instructions and upgraded it via the provided link. It said it was successful but my abantecart is still showing 1.4.2, and the update notification keeps showing up. Nothing is broken and I've tried the update twice. There are no errors shown in any logs etc.,

Cash on Delivery, so we dont use a merchant.  So as I say, I believe there should be a means to create a credit to reverse the invoice value on the account and business site...

I appreciate the reply, but I don't see any refund option to carry out a refund function and produce a credit note.

What I do see is just a status to apply to an order.

What should happen is an order is placed, then you raise the invoice which produces an actual invoice number and an invoice document is produced and printable.

Whilst a status can be applied to an order to show an order has been refunded, I cant see anywhere that this produces a negative transaction to the account ( and sales turnover of the site ) and a credit note with a credit note number.


I may have missed something so im sorry if I am wrong but I just cannot see this anywhere in the order. (Obviously in the admib)

However short answers below to help you for now.

1, Email Templates.  Agreed but some items rely on additional changes elsewhere to make certain functions work. Eg product images on the order or / invoice product line is not straight forward.  This sort of thing is standard on other platforms. Ill see if I can share an example of what i mean.

2, I'm using the standard template Novator.

Product > Promotions Tab > Add Discount.

If you see when you add, you are offered  a % or $, but I only have £ setup and enabled as a valid currency. So its wrongly offering a currency that i dont have enabled and cannot use it against the one I do want to use.
