How-to questions / Re: Stripe Extension - Link Autofill
« on: November 29, 2024, 04:19:48 AM »
Thanks abolabo.
I thought it quite unlikely that AbanteCart would have any control, comments I've since found in paymentLink.php also suggests that. I know what Link is, it's switch off but still shows. Stripes' claims sounded a lot like buck passing. It was just easier for them to pass the blame rather than actually fix their problem.
I may just use Paypal for cards, not the cheapest but I'm getting to dislike Paypal less than all the others. They have been the least troublesome amongst all the payment providers & marketplaces that I've used over the last 20 years.

How-to questions / Stripe Extension - Link Autofill
« on: November 28, 2024, 09:41:51 AM »
I'm using Abantecart 1.3.4
An setting up Stripe payments, currently in test mode. On the settings in the Stripe account I have disabled the link registration in both test & live modes but it is still showing on my Abantecart payment page (see screenshot). Stripe Support have advised me that their settings are being overridden by Abantecart. I can't find any relevant setting in Abantecart to change this. Is there any other way of disabling link within Abantecart, perhaps by editing a file?
Most of my customers are the older generation so often nervous about online payments so I need to keep all pages as clean & uncluttered as possible, without unnecessary links or options.
The card details shown in the image are provided by Stripe for testing, not a live card!
Thanks.

I'm Using Abantecart V1.3.4, with fast checkout & the modal box.
Is there a way of presenting the shipping address form to customers first (with a same as delivery address checkbox) first, followed by the payment address form? It does seem to be the most frequent order amongst shopping carts, so closer to what some customers may expect to see. Also there will be less instances of customers switching their thoughts between payment & delivery so it would perhaps seem like a smoother experience. Or maybe I'm just overthinking things a bit.

General Support / Re: Terms & Conditions Checkbox

Thanks llegrand,
That link should help. I can code some HTML & javascript, but beyond that it's all copy & paste.
Please advise on which file I need to change. It's the checkout page that states “By clicking Confirm Order, you accept and agree to all terms of.....“
I'm in the UK & here we have to use a checkbox for customers to accept T&C's.

Thanks llegrand,
But that only provides an implied acceptance of terms. I am looking to have a checkbox that the customer has to specifically tick.

I'm setting up AbanteCart V1.3.4 with static pages. Bootstrap5 with same page modal dialogue. I'm only using guest checkout (with fast checkout) as I feel that suits the demographics of my customers.
One last change I need to make is on the final checkout page. To replace the “By clicking Confirm Order, you accept and agree to all terms of.....“ with a checkbox.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

General Support / Customer Alerts On Checkout

I'm embedding into a static site, just about have it as I want but there are two checkout issue. I'm using fast checkout in the modal “Same page modal dialogue”:

In the Shopping cart page the + & - buttons do not function.
In the address page there is no indication (red fields with !) if fields are not filled in.

They both work fine in “open new page in new tab” & “open new page in same window”.
Can they be made to function in the “Same page modal dialogue”?

Thank you, that explains it. Now just need to sort the modal box issue before starting on the site.

Embedding / Add To Cart Button Not Showing Shopping Cart
« on: April 25, 2024, 03:47:03 AM »
My embedded test pages have started to behave differently. This includes the one linked to in my previous post https://forum.abantecart.com/index.php/topic,10739.0.html
Previously the Add To Cart button opened the shopping cart, now it just adds to the total, showing the cart icon. Clicking the cart icon then opens it. Clicking on the picture also opens the cart.
Thinking that I may have messed up the settings I did a fresh AbanteCart install in a new folder, I changed nothing, leaving all settings as installed. I then created a test page from a new clean html file, pasting the auto generated code from the new install with exactly the same results. Tried with modal, cart in new window & cart in same window, all with the same results. Tried in several browsers on two computers. Sample pages were created using a test item with no options.
I'm quite happy with it working this way, less clicks for the customers. I assume I'm missing something (probably obvious) in the settings, if so I need to know what before I unintentionally change things again.

Thanks for the reply.
Forum would not allow me to post link so I've attached two screenshots.
https://test.stationroadbaseboards.co.uk/cart_template_20.htm
Page is coded to enable the menu to stay visible at the top of the screen at all times.
In the first one if “add to cart” is clicked before scrolling the page the box sits above everything else, as intended. In the second picture, scrolling the page first, until the menu sits at the page top & then clicking “add to cart” results in the box sitting behind the menu.
I've tested on Firefox, Chrome, Edge & Opera, all with the same results.

I'm setting up AbanteCart for use with an existing static website. Embedding is just about there but I'm having issues with the modal box for cart/checkout. I have a fixed navbar, using DD Smoothmenu, loaded from a separate html page with Javascript. if the page is not scrolled the modal box sits on top of the menu (& all other page elements), where it needs to be. When the page is scrolled the menu moves to the top of the page, as required but the modal box then sits behind the menu with the top half of the title bar obscured. I've tried adjusting the z-index setting for the html page elements but it's made no difference.
Ideally I would like to either adjust the z position of the modal box or to move it a few pixels down the page. I've tried to identify the relevant AbanteCart files without much success. If someone could advise me on which files I need to change it would be appreciated.
Also knowing which files are needed to edit the title bar would be useful.
