Hello everyone:

I just installed AbanteCart 1.4.0 via a click installation on my webhost. Looking at the database I see Server version 8.0.22 was automatically installed. AbanteCart's PHP compatibility chart recommends version 8.3 but that 8.0.22 is acceptable.

Is there any reason why it might be a better idea to consider upgrading to 8.3?

Since 2016 I have been using Opencart. I need to upgrade my website because my Opencart shop is outdated and is not cell phone or tablet friendly. Also, I need software that is stable, which AbanteCart 1.4.0 claims to be.

I've also choosing AbanteCart for my new website because what I have seen in this community to date...I've been reading threads here for about the last week or so. And the professional support level offered by the developer appears to me to be superior to what I have seen in Opencart.

I'm primarily a fabricator and not a programmer or web designer, so simplicity is key for me, since my time is more valuable spent fabricating versus continually working on my website. However, the AbanteCart admin panel is deeper and much more involved than opencart's, so I will have a bit of a learning curve in order to employ it's finer details. Simultaneously, the AbanteCart admin panel is similar enough to Opencart's that I will be able to navigate and use the panel with ease.

Right now I'm having some initial difficulty clearing out all categories, products, media etc. from the default templates (my click installation did not give me the option to start with a blank slate). I've managed to remove all products and categories, but I'm stuck with deleting media.

When I select all and try to delete, I receive the message "some resources might be included in the text. We can not check this automatically."

I'm not sure how to proceed. By deleting all products and categories I seem to have deleted images because in the media section all I see now are some sort of placeholders for the images that look like </>

I'm also unsure whether I should delete all media images. I see images still available for things like PayPal, the banner_fallback.jpg, abc-logo, etc.

I'm using Abantecart 1.3.4
An setting up Stripe payments, currently in test mode. On the settings in the Stripe account I have disabled the link registration in both test & live modes but it is still showing on my Abantecart payment page (see screenshot). Stripe Support have advised me that their settings are being overridden by Abantecart. I can't find any relevant setting in Abantecart to change this. Is there any other way of disabling link within Abantecart, perhaps by editing a file?
Most of my customers are the older generation so often nervous about online payments so I need to keep all pages as clean & uncluttered as possible, without unnecessary links or options.
The card details shown in the image are provided by Stripe for testing, not a live card!
