Suggestion is to upgrade to 1.2.8. I used a site check and these issues were not even noticed. It was other minor site errors that were reported.

Since I started with 1.2.8 I have no idea about the upgrade process. If it is tailored after SMF Forum where we are now, the upgrade is painless and nothing shouild be lost on your site.

Before upgrade, DO A COMPLETE CODE AND SQL BACKUP FIRST and then put your site into maintenance mode.

General Support / Sugesstion for new board
« on: September 12, 2016, 01:52:13 PM »
Admin guys, sugesstion, really

Create a new board for Abantecart successes. I for one am in awe of this great ecommerce package for the small to medium business. It's realatively easy to setup and populating the store is a snap. Yes, it takes a couple weeks to get it accomplished, but any ecommerce package takes at least that and some more.

Please give the community a place to show off the success they have had with Abantecart. I for one am very proud and thankful that your package came along, just when I needed it.

BTW, I have a forum also based on SMF so I know it takes about 2 minutes to accomplish a Kudos Board to the dev team by giving successes a place to say, ABANTECART YOUR THE GREATEST.

General Support / Re: Change the order of Mobile menu list
« on: September 12, 2016, 01:23:05 PM »
Take a look at your parent categories and child categories. Are they the way you want on the desktop display?  If so, just a suggestion, but what I have done to overcome the limitations for now is to create a menu item called "Products". In the link field I put "content/sitemap". Even though it goes to sitemap, it shows all parent and child categories at a glance along with links to everything that is within the menu settings.  Pretty slick.

It's not a real fix for your question, but for mobile, it puts a link in the menu pop-up and directs mobile users to ALL your products, services, contact info, etc....  Make sense?

General Support / Promotion pricing
« on: September 12, 2016, 10:00:04 AM »
Attached are some screen shots of a product I want to give quantity discounts.

1-10 are regular price of 0.89
11-20 price                     0.79
21+ price                        0.69

The problem is, the quantity breaks are not shown on the product page. For the first price break it shows 11 and the next shows 21 which will totally confuse the customer. Is there an easy way to show the break points like I have listed above.  Check the screen shots, you'll see what I mean.

The pricing works flawlessly it's just the description of the price breaks that's confusing.

A suggestion for future releases would be to have a description field in the promo settings that the customer sees and have the inventory related field hidden on the storefront. It would make promo pricing a breeze.

jaysbar

I'll be taking a look at that this week. I am transitioning from doing flea markets to online with the tackle business. I spoke with a customer today and they were enthused about the site and "promised" to tell their friends. This is a customer that spends $30-$50 every time they visit my stand.

Imagine what customers would spend on a site overall with an app? Whether it's for my niche or any other niche. If Abantecart team put together a package that could make custom apps for each users site, I would be willing to pop $200 in a heartbeat, no questions ask.

Overall Abantecart is THE BEST ecommerce platform around for the small to medium size business. And trust me, I have looked at them all, for real.

Untill the team has it, I'll keep plugging away at my solution. Cause I know it's out there.

I built a test app with one of the services to see how the basics worked. When I get a chance next week before going live, I'll give it a test to see if the checkout works from within the app. It should, the only thing is will it report back to the main store without being integrated through the API's.

I sell fishing tackle and from experience with Playstore, I know there are a ton of folks that download apps from this niche, even if it's just to see how they work.  How cool it would be for a fisherman to be able to order tackle from their boat 8)

***UPDATE***

Site changes such as products added and inventory changes are pushed to the app ;D  Bad news is, ran a test order using guest checkout and check as payment and it did not report the order back to the main online site  :-\   First test, first service. Overall I'm encouraged so far by the results.  So the answer to an app is, yes it can be done and the reporting back to the main site shouldn't be that difficult integrate.

Will keep you posted on progress.  I will figure out a way to implement a sucessful app. To many sales dollars riding on it considering the number of people that use mobile as their only source of online access.

General Support / Newsletter envelope "icon" not a graphic
« on: September 08, 2016, 02:46:40 PM »
I'm putting the finishing touches on my site and ran into a graphic that doesn't appear to be a graphic. I used Firefox to inspect the element for the newsletter sign up image and it doesn't show as a graphic. I looked in all the image folders and not there either.  I need to change the envelope picture but this one I can't figure out how since there is no graphic to change. Am I looking in the wrong place?

There are some free services on the net to build an app for your store and publish for Android and iPhone. I just did it as a test for my site and it's pretty slick. Not the fanciest, but another tool to get your name out there.

Got it!  I knew it was staring at me but I was looking right past it. Thanks for your help. I don't want to alter any core code, just the .css and .tpl where it needs a minor tweak for my store.

Been heavy into Abantecart for about a week and almost ready to go live. Like I said, hands down the best cart out there for the non-technical person.

First, BIG thumbs up to the dev team. Abantecart is hands down the best simple deployable ecommerce platform around.

I'm not a coder but have learned to manipulate code over the years to do what I want but this has me stumped.

On the Create Account page I want to change the Privacy Police to Terms and Conditions which I've created. I looked at the 2 files that seem to control this \storefront\controller\pages\account\create.php and \storefront\view\default\template\pages\account\create.tpl but can't wrap my head around how to change the link to the page I want referenced.

I know it's probably staring at me but I'm not seeing it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
