I went in and did a manual update of the extension to 1.2, but for some reason it's not showing up on the cart.  It shows fine on the back end and lets me select all the defaults and setup the login etc, but it's not showing up in the shopping cart at checkout.  help?!

Nevermind.  got it.  Was a "weight" issue... had to enter .01 for it to show.

Upgrade / Re: Should I upgrade or wait?

I updated to get some updates to some of the extensions I use... BUT be aware that when you update to 1.3.3 there is a possible issue with your existing extension settings causing you to lose the ability to add or update "options" on products.  Weird problem, but it happened, and not just to me.  I have a solution to this, but you need to have ftp access to your site, and the ability to install a temporary 2nd installation of 1.3.3 to fix the issue.  It's not hard thankfully.  Once i figured out how to do it, took me less than 5 minutes.

Its one of the default extensions for shipping.

So.....

So I sorta figured out an easy fix based on talking it out with some computer nerd friends of mine... What I ended up having to do was go into my cpanel, and install a 2nd version of Abantecart 1.3.3 into a different directory.  Then I went into that directory via FTP, and downloaded the extension files that I use.  I then went into the original Abantecart directory and uploaded those extensions back to the extension directory.   Followed by re-clearing my cache on my browser just for good measure (had already done that to no avail earlier), and then going back in and updating the extensions with their respective logins and settings so they worked properly again.

Then suddenly all the "options" were saving again.  I don't know which extension it was that was the problem, but I'm back in business again and able to add options again.

You COULD also have the item listed with the Options section... like Buy this Sweater for $25, and Optionally select this Tumbler that Matches for $15...   Make it a "add this additional item for so much" option "no additional item" option.

The only way I can see to do what you are asking, is if the item is the lowest price item you sell, and you put a "run order" minimum on your payment methods for 1 penny above the price of that item, so they won't be able to check out unless they buy multiple of that item, or add something else to the cart.  Really just establishing an order minimum for your store.  Lots of places have them... even Temu won't let you check out unless you spend $10.

What you really want is to have a RUN if then condition on that item only, which isn't an option currently as far as I can see beyond the option I have suggested.

What I am trying to do is change what is displayed to the customer at Checkout for Shipping Methods.

Example:  I am using the Weight Based Shipping Extension, but it displays to the customer as option:

Weight Based Shipping
USA Weight Based-No Tracking (Weight: 0.50oz)

I want to remove that "No Tracking" part of what's displayed... or change it to say Limited Tracking.  Is that Possible?  Where in the extension's coding can I make that Adjustment?

Every order that I ship comes with at least Limited Tracking (USPS Acceptance, and tracking through the US postal automated machine scans).  I just don't want to confuse people with the words no tracking, when tracking is clearly an option for this selected ship method.

As of right now, because the service's no longer exist with USPS, they don't show up on the consumer side (checkout pages) of the website.  If I knew more than basic code, or how USPS handles their coding, I'd just go in and make whatever changes need to occur... but alas this particular extension is outside of my wheelhouse, especially with it being built in...

Is there anyone who's familiar with the coding of this extension that knows how it pulls the info from USPS?  I'm not opposed to learning... or making manual adjustments. lol.  I had to do that to get the stripe extension working again a while back, and then replacing certain files recently.  I currently have a "flat rate" option set up that covers most ground advantage orders, but it's a limited option obviously.  It's still showing priority and express no problem... just no longer showing parcel, first class, or any of the related services to customers at checkout.

My customers prefer the cheaper shipping options because of what they are buying (mostly stickers).

www.usps.com/ship/ground-advantage.htm  I'm not allowed to post links yet.

USPS has combined First Class Package, Parcel Select, and Ground into a new service as of 7/9/23 called Ground Advantage.  Most of the shipping programs have already updated their systems for this new postage class.  Only Amazon is still using First Class at this time as an option, but it's being treated as Ground Advantage.  They have until September to update their system from what I have learned.

Where can I grab the updated version?  Can you post a link to it?  When I updated to 1.3.3 it did not update my version from 1.0.2

Are we going to get an update to the USPS Default_usps extension this week?  Since First Class and Parcel Post are no longer shipping options with USPS as of Today.  It's been changed to Ground Advantage, so Now when I attempt to checkout on my website, it no longer shows First Class or Parcel Post as shipping options, and it did yesterday.

I assume it just needs to have the api and core coding updated to reflect the new shipping options with USPS?  This is my MAIN way most people order and get their merch shipped.  How do we do this on our end? or is there something ya'll need to do with this core extension?
