General Support / (Action) commands in CSV files?
November 09, 2012, 09:54:48 AM
 :)
Does anyone know the commands available to you under a "Action" column in a CSV file? (e.g. add or insert, update, delete, etc.)

:D
Thanks in advance for the knowledge,
Quenncy

upgrade package for v1.1.0 contain only php-files. Just replace files.
p.s. do not forget do backup.

An may I please have that URL for this upgrade (php-files) that you are speaking of?  The ver. 1.1.1. Upgrade that I downloaded (abantecart.googlecode.com/files/abantecart_v1.1.1.zip) did not have no PhP files, just simply 1 XML file & 7 empty folders as shown in the screen shoot.

Thanks so much for the education,

Oh great thanks so much for the answer, it is greatly appreciated.

I do have another question, I use AbanteCart via my hosting server and I have downloaded the upgrade only to manually install 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 but there is nothing in the downloaded upgrade (abantecart.googlecode.com/files/abantecart_v1.1.1.zip) except the XML file with any data shown in the properties but the rest of the files/folders are empty.
Is this all that is needed to upgrade my server files manually from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 prior to using your instructions above for ver. 1.1.1?

Thanks,
Quenncy

General Support / CSV Resource Library's and Images

Is there a way to upload images to a certain folder in your /resources/ image folder and incorporate it in to your CSV Resource File so you can gain a Resource ID to include in your Product CSV file?  This will be helpful on the thousand of items I have to enter. I also already have the images setting on my server for my items.

Thanks in Advance,  :D

2.  Also where do you put your URL for the products image that you want the system to capture and use in your store?

Hi. Looks like AbanteCart cannot capture image URLs

So I am confused on why to use the CSV importing process if it can't include images, I mean if you have to upload multiple images for every item (1000 or more) then what is the whole idea about.

Trying to understand the thought here.

Thanks,
Quenncy

Hello
For import products from CSv file without the need to configure each product separately, your archive with CVS files must contain next CVS files (not columns)
Blocks
Categories
Manufacturers
Products
Resource_library
Resource_types

Thanks for question)

1. So let me see if I got this right or not, Once you are completed in excel make sure you save it in a CSV format that is "next CVS files (not columns)" and everything separated by my choose of a "comma"?
2.  Also where do you put your URL for the products image that you want the system to capture and use in your store?  I am including a attachment showing you what I have from my supplier to use and build a cvs file for importing into the system maybe it will better help you explain where all I need to put it? Also all products are Free Shipping but are sold only to the US & Canada.

Thanks so much,
Quenncy

Apologies for missing user manual for import/export. We are closing the gap and It will be available soon.

In addition, more control for import/export will be added in next version.

Patience and help greatly appreciated.

No Apologies needed I totally understand somethings take time.
Thank You for all that you and your community does! I know I greatly appreciate it very much.

Thanks Again,

What columns are REQUIRED in a product import (Insert) CSV file for the products to go straight in the storefront for sale without any having to tweak each one individually in the products page ?

Thanks in advance,

What version of abantecart you use?
When you do import, result page shows you number of record created/updated. What did you get?
You comment
Quoteand deleted all columns that I was not familiar
I am not sure if you deleted some important columns, like column that links product to category.

I want to say thanks so much for the speedy reply.

I am running ver. 1.1 downloaded via my hosting site's cPanel. So I believe it is basically installed to my hosting server.

On "result's" the error reads:
Total loaded: 971. Updated: 0. Created: 809. Errors: 162
"Missing relation ID resource_id for update_or_insert action in table resource_library. Skipping."

Here is a screen shot that might help us on the columns.
Also you can not see but I entered at the very beginning the Column "Action" and for all rows entered "insert".

What columns are REQUIRED in a product import (Insert) CSV file?

Thanks,
Quenncy  :)

Tips and Tricks / Import Products CSV
October 29, 2012, 01:29:44 PM
I am trying to understand Importing by CSV to upload many products at one time to my Store Front.

I have manually entered some products to my store then exported the PRODUCT CSV for a example.
Opening the CSV product sample wit excel and deleted all columns that I was not familiar with but leaving columns to data I wanted to enter like "products.price", "products.title", "products.sku" etc.. After completing 163 rows I then saved it back in the same format as I opened then I went to the Import page and tried once to upload with TEST on then tried again with TEST off. Either way I didn't get no errors but have no clue where or if it placed the Added Products data somewhere and I can't find it.

Any help would be appreciated,
Regards,
Quenncy  :)
