Adding barcode scanning for stock management sounds like a great feature—it would definitely streamline inventory updates. I’ll pass this along to the core development team for consideration in future updates.

SEO / Re: Image site map
« on: January 29, 2025, 11:26:30 PM »
No, it's not strictly necessary to create an image sitemap for Google Image Search, but it can help your images get indexed faster and more accurately. To create one, you can add image details (like image URLs, captions, etc.) to your existing XML sitemap or create a separate image-specific sitemap. Just make sure the sitemap is submitted to Google Search Console for better visibility.

SEO / Re: Use of keywords
« on: January 28, 2025, 10:09:53 PM »
Q1: You’re correct—stuffing keywords into the ‘meta keywords’ section without relevance to the page content is outdated and doesn’t really help with ranking anymore. Focus on what’s actually on the page.

Q2: No need to limit to exactly 8, but yes, keep it focused—around 5-8 relevant keywords is a good rule of thumb.

Q3: Yes! Include the keywords naturally in your content. Don’t overdo it—aim for a natural flow, and keep keyword density to about 1-2% of the page’s content.

Q4: It’s a good idea to include your keywords in the ‘meta description,’ but don’t just stuff them in. Make sure the description reads naturally and accurately reflects the content of the page.

SEO / Re: How Important Is Link Building In SEO???
« on: January 13, 2025, 09:57:41 PM »
Hello guys I am Kevin and I am newly started my new project for the site maintenance and ranking. As I am also still learning the art of SEO. I wanted to ask one question through this platform is the role of link building or backlinks in SEO.

Hi Kevin! Backlinks do play a key role in SEO. Essentially, they act as "votes of confidence" from other websites, showing search engines that your site is trustworthy and valuable. The more quality backlinks you have, the better your chances of ranking higher. Just focus on getting relevant, high-quality links rather than quantity. Best of luck with your project!

How-to questions / Re: What is everyone doing to figure sales tax?
« on: January 12, 2025, 11:28:33 PM »
Hey everyone--setting up a new store and got a quote from Avatax of several thousand dollars monthly for 2000 transactions. Even a lower tiered option of 500 transactions was over 1K. A little much for me starting out.

So I'm looking for options. I know this can be set up internally but it looks to be a pretty daunting task, especially with specific state, county, and local tax rates being different all over the place. I'm looking for simple and easy if it exists. I've had another Ecomm store owner who told me I only had to charge tax for the state I'm located in. But my accountant says that's not correct.

What's everyone else doing to figure their state sales tax? Any better options than Avatax that will integrate with Abantecart? I contacted TaxJar and they said they don't have an integration with Abantecart, but do have an API option.

Since TaxJar doesn't integrate with Abantecart, you could try TaxCloud (free for smaller businesses) or QuickBooks Sales Tax as more budget-friendly options. Taxify is another choice to consider. If you’re just starting, manually handling tax for a few states might also work. The goal is finding something that automates the process without breaking the bank.

Opinions / Re: Advantages over Shopify and Prestashop
« on: January 09, 2025, 07:06:49 AM »
I'm exploring different e-commerce platforms and came across AbanteCart. It seems like an interesting alternative to Shopify and PrestaShop, especially for small businesses.

Does anyone here have experience using AbanteCart? What are its advantages compared to Shopify and PrestaShop in terms of cost, customization, usability, or features?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Hey! I’ve looked into AbanteCart too. It’s an open-source platform, which makes it more customizable and cost-effective compared to Shopify. It’s user-friendly with built-in features like payment gateways, but you might need to invest in hosting and development for more customization. Interested to hear others' experiences with it!
