Title: import / export new products not working...

I can't seem to export a file for me to upload my product list... I've read and followed the tutorials, followed the instructions and still can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong or is there a permission I need to change or what?

Check if ../admin/system and ../admin/system/data directory has write permissions.

They do. All have 755

another "test" to try

go to http://www.abantecart.com/ (http://www.abantecart.com/)
select the demo from the top tab
go to the admin page
and try exporting there -  if it works for you, then you will know your installation or your server settings are the issue

if it doesn't work,  then you have some condition on your PC that is interfering.

Set everything to 777, still not working and it exported in demo but didn't import back. Does it have to be in a .tar zip file to upload again?

You do not need a tar file to import -  but I am guessing the demo prohibits you from uploading so the demo isn't corrupted.

I discovered this after going through settings. Any idea what it means and how I fix it?

Hello.

Check the path in the warning message there should be not archived export files, so you can download them manually.

How do I download and then upload back. Editing these files is difficult in Excel. I can make changes in Word.

I can't get the export or import to work.

I have already manually entered the data. but that doesn't help me in the future.
